Savage Bear Society: Negotiations for the Star Gun - Part 1
Show Notes Transcript

Travelling to the distant shores of the continent  Arcadia, our new Pathfinder adventure begins!

The proud people of Arcadia rarely let in outsiders, though our three Pathfinder Society adventurers have been granted permission for a special meeting with the Segadian Council, to discuss the future of the ancient weapon know as the Star Gun.

This begins our new quest into Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-12: Negotiations for the Star Gun

[Music]

2
00:00:16,000 --> 00:00:21,000
G'day, hello and welcome to the Savage Bear Society.

3
00:00:21,000 --> 00:00:24,000
How are we all going today, my fine friends?

4
00:00:24,000 --> 00:00:25,000
Hello!

5
00:00:25,000 --> 00:00:26,000
Hello! So good!

6
00:00:26,000 --> 00:00:27,000
Hello, very well.

7
00:00:27,000 --> 00:00:29,000
Good, we can hear some familiar faces.

8
00:00:29,000 --> 00:00:35,000
We can hear the faces, squinting and blinking, smacking their lips and all that.

9
00:00:35,000 --> 00:00:36,000
Sorry Tim.

10
00:00:36,000 --> 00:00:41,000
Sorry Tim. But no, we have, obviously, we're starting a new Pathfinder Society,

11
00:00:41,000 --> 00:00:46,000
which means we have a different crew, we have a different group of Pathfinders with us.

12
00:00:46,000 --> 00:00:51,000
So I have here with me a couple of faces we haven't seen for a while and a face

13
00:00:51,000 --> 00:00:56,000
who is brand new to the society, which is very different to Pathfinder, which we played before, Kyle.

14
00:00:56,000 --> 00:01:00,000
Society is very different, different rules, a bit less circuicy.

15
00:01:00,000 --> 00:01:02,000
Less circuicy, alright.

16
00:01:02,000 --> 00:01:03,000
We'll see how we play.

17
00:01:03,000 --> 00:01:05,000
Less circ, just slightly, just slightly.

18
00:01:05,000 --> 00:01:11,000
Yes, but we have Kyle, we have Bray and we have a lock, all returning to come play

19
00:01:11,000 --> 00:01:12,000
some Pathfinder Society.

20
00:01:12,000 --> 00:01:13,000
Oh yeah.

21
00:01:13,000 --> 00:01:16,000
And I've got a bone to pick with each and every single one of you.

22
00:01:16,000 --> 00:01:18,000
Already, what have we done?

23
00:01:18,000 --> 00:01:19,000
It sounds ominous.

24
00:01:19,000 --> 00:01:20,000
Already?

25
00:01:20,000 --> 00:01:21,000
Wow.

26
00:01:21,000 --> 00:01:25,000
I had a very good time over Cancon, but I had an influence over me.

27
00:01:25,000 --> 00:01:28,000
And each three of you have been just a little buddy.

28
00:01:28,000 --> 00:01:31,000
I've spent way too much money on Magic Arts recently.

29
00:01:31,000 --> 00:01:34,000
Yeah, that's my bad.

30
00:01:34,000 --> 00:01:39,000
It's always as bad as Warhammer for draining your bank account.

31
00:01:39,000 --> 00:01:44,000
Oh, look, I'm getting that cardboard drain and that plastic drain at the moment,

32
00:01:44,000 --> 00:01:45,000
and it's bad.

33
00:01:45,000 --> 00:01:46,000
But it's good.

34
00:01:46,000 --> 00:01:54,000
I mean, Joanna, I've actually, so reason I say this is that I went camping and I took three modern decks with me.

35
00:01:54,000 --> 00:01:56,000
I think they're modern decks.

36
00:01:56,000 --> 00:02:02,000
And we just played while we were camping and it was super good fun, but it now means that I own a Commander deck.

37
00:02:02,000 --> 00:02:10,000
I now own four decks to play Magic with so I can consider myself a Tapper as I like myself.

38
00:02:10,000 --> 00:02:11,000
A Gatherer.

39
00:02:11,000 --> 00:02:12,000
A Gatherer.

40
00:02:12,000 --> 00:02:14,000
Am I a Gatherer or a Magic or am I Tapping?

41
00:02:14,000 --> 00:02:15,000
Am I Tapper?

42
00:02:15,000 --> 00:02:16,000
It's like a trap-a-b.

43
00:02:16,000 --> 00:02:20,000
I'm sensing that you really want to make this a thing.

44
00:02:20,000 --> 00:02:22,000
So let's go at your Tapper.

45
00:02:22,000 --> 00:02:24,000
I do, you're a Tapper that way.

46
00:02:24,000 --> 00:02:28,000
Well, I made a group with them and it looked for anyone at home who's not listening.

47
00:02:28,000 --> 00:02:31,000
This is not going to make any sense, but they're cards.

48
00:02:31,000 --> 00:02:32,000
There you go.

49
00:02:32,000 --> 00:02:37,000
I mean, okay, if you properly listen to any kind of like actual play podcast or listen,

50
00:02:37,000 --> 00:02:41,000
or in some way, no pathfinder or whatever, you might know what a Gatherer Magic is.

51
00:02:41,000 --> 00:02:42,000
So it's a card.

52
00:02:42,000 --> 00:02:45,000
It's like you do, but less, less intense.

53
00:02:45,000 --> 00:02:46,000
You're really selling it.

54
00:02:46,000 --> 00:02:48,000
Less intense than you get, I guess it is.

55
00:02:48,000 --> 00:02:52,000
Well, I'd like to think so. I think I think I, for my experience, people play Magic the Gathering,

56
00:02:52,000 --> 00:02:56,000
which are my friends that I've conned into playing and my beautiful, wonderful girlfriend in the other room.

57
00:02:56,000 --> 00:02:58,000
They're less intense.

58
00:02:58,000 --> 00:03:04,000
I'm getting a sense, I'm getting a sense that you've never been to a Friday night Magic

59
00:03:04,000 --> 00:03:09,000
at a game store or generally--

60
00:03:09,000 --> 00:03:10,000
I know there's a bad thing.

61
00:03:10,000 --> 00:03:15,000
Been around people that you don't know that also play Magic.

62
00:03:15,000 --> 00:03:22,000
Yes, this is very true, although he is correct in that you do locals are far worse.

63
00:03:22,000 --> 00:03:24,000
We're going to draw the line in the sand.

64
00:03:24,000 --> 00:03:26,000
Magic is superior to you.

65
00:03:26,000 --> 00:03:30,000
I wouldn't call it superior, but it's not alienate.

66
00:03:30,000 --> 00:03:31,000
Yeah, we're going to half of that.

67
00:03:31,000 --> 00:03:33,000
Yeah, we're going to hit people seeing me.

68
00:03:33,000 --> 00:03:34,000
I'm going to say that.

69
00:03:34,000 --> 00:03:39,000
Well, I want to know where the Pokemon plays.

70
00:03:39,000 --> 00:03:40,000
Lie.

71
00:03:40,000 --> 00:03:41,000
Yeah.

72
00:03:41,000 --> 00:03:46,000
I'm generally very friendly, but there's a thing in Pokemon players known as the Pokemon

73
00:03:46,000 --> 00:03:50,000
Mum, which is like a soccer mum, but like a million times worse.

74
00:03:50,000 --> 00:03:52,000
So does she like coach the people playing?

75
00:03:52,000 --> 00:03:58,000
No, it's like a little Timmy is going to worlds and you're not going to stop him.

76
00:03:58,000 --> 00:04:01,000
Oh shit, really?

77
00:04:01,000 --> 00:04:02,000
Yeah.

78
00:04:02,000 --> 00:04:04,000
I imagine tennis mums.

79
00:04:04,000 --> 00:04:07,000
Tennis mums, I think, are worse than soccer mums.

80
00:04:07,000 --> 00:04:09,000
Sorry for any tennis mums out there.

81
00:04:09,000 --> 00:04:10,000
You're very intense.

82
00:04:10,000 --> 00:04:15,000
But my experience is Pokemon mums.

83
00:04:15,000 --> 00:04:19,000
Pokemon mums are in the same somewhere between soccer mums and tennis.

84
00:04:19,000 --> 00:04:20,000
Okay, wow.

85
00:04:20,000 --> 00:04:22,000
Yeah, somewhere between, you know what they're like?

86
00:04:22,000 --> 00:04:25,000
They're like a pageant mum mixed with like a tennis mum.

87
00:04:25,000 --> 00:04:31,000
When you said, when you said Pokemon mums, I was imagining like they were the ones playing

88
00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:36,000
Pokemon, but no, they have a child coaching.

89
00:04:36,000 --> 00:04:41,000
So did the Pokemon mums that they know the rules of the Pokemon training?

90
00:04:41,000 --> 00:04:42,000
Oh yeah, yeah.

91
00:04:42,000 --> 00:04:43,000
And so they're...

92
00:04:43,000 --> 00:04:44,000
Do they pull?

93
00:04:44,000 --> 00:04:45,000
Yeah, they call them judges and stuff.

94
00:04:45,000 --> 00:04:46,000
Oh shit, okay.

95
00:04:46,000 --> 00:04:48,000
I need the T on this.

96
00:04:48,000 --> 00:04:49,000
I need the T on this.

97
00:04:49,000 --> 00:04:50,000
This is crazy.

98
00:04:50,000 --> 00:04:51,000
It's very funny.

99
00:04:51,000 --> 00:04:55,000
There's, um, cancon had had a, it's fair share of Pokemon mums.

100
00:04:55,000 --> 00:04:56,000
Put it that way.

101
00:04:56,000 --> 00:04:57,000
Shit.

102
00:04:57,000 --> 00:05:02,000
I didn't even know that was like a whole world existed because I guess, I guess I don't know.

103
00:05:02,000 --> 00:05:07,000
Um, maybe there is a transference for that because obviously there's a lot of parents that

104
00:05:07,000 --> 00:05:09,000
really want their children to do well at sports.

105
00:05:09,000 --> 00:05:17,000
And now with a lot of parents being like we want to encourage you and your hobbies, I wonder if we're going to start seeing, you know, like, warhammer mums, you know.

106
00:05:17,000 --> 00:05:18,000
I'm going to be a warhammer dad.

107
00:05:18,000 --> 00:05:21,000
Like, I want to be a warhammer dad.

108
00:05:21,000 --> 00:05:25,000
And what I'm going to have, I'm going to have a, I'll have a tape measure on my hip.

109
00:05:25,000 --> 00:05:26,000
I can just extract.

110
00:05:26,000 --> 00:05:27,000
I don't take it off.

111
00:05:27,000 --> 00:05:31,000
It stays in its holster and I just extract and go, now you move a half inch too far.

112
00:05:31,000 --> 00:05:38,000
Yeah, that'll be like, and they'll go to measure it six and you're like, son, you know, that's going to be longer than six inches.

113
00:05:38,000 --> 00:05:41,000
Well, you need one of those like this.

114
00:05:41,000 --> 00:05:47,000
Laser, uh, little laser range find a measure is so like it's the, well, I have the late, I already have the laser.

115
00:05:47,000 --> 00:05:50,000
No, no, you just got the laser like to like to measure a lot of sight.

116
00:05:50,000 --> 00:05:51,000
Just track my cast.

117
00:05:51,000 --> 00:05:59,000
I want, I'm, I'm talking like lasers to get like precise like to the, to the, yeah, tenth of a millimeter kind of like,

118
00:05:59,000 --> 00:06:02,000
the exact measurement.

119
00:06:02,000 --> 00:06:05,000
Look, I mean, a small part of me wants that anyway, because that'd be good fun.

120
00:06:05,000 --> 00:06:09,000
And it means I don't have to have a tape measure, but then again, yeah, I don't know.

121
00:06:09,000 --> 00:06:10,000
Okay, cool.

122
00:06:10,000 --> 00:06:13,000
Well, I'm glad you know the best part about hearing you talk about magic and stuff.

123
00:06:13,000 --> 00:06:14,000
Got it.

124
00:06:14,000 --> 00:06:18,000
Is that you go back to like the first, I think the first or second ever episode of, of Savage Bear,

125
00:06:18,000 --> 00:06:22,000
and you're talking about opening packs of Russian M19.

126
00:06:22,000 --> 00:06:23,000
Yes.

127
00:06:23,000 --> 00:06:24,000
Yes.

128
00:06:24,000 --> 00:06:26,000
And I still come on way, somewhere in front of me.

129
00:06:26,000 --> 00:06:35,000
It took, it's a day ago, guys. So this is what happens. You start a, a T-T, a tabletop actual play podcast thing, RPG, whatever this is.

130
00:06:35,000 --> 00:06:40,000
And you'll end up by three is in, three is in, three is in, about three is in.

131
00:06:40,000 --> 00:06:42,000
Well, come on up. I fuck, actually, we're coming up to like three years.

132
00:06:42,000 --> 00:06:46,000
Jesus, I need to realize that like in two months time, you, you play magic.

133
00:06:46,000 --> 00:06:47,000
So be careful.

134
00:06:47,000 --> 00:06:48,000
Be very careful.

135
00:06:48,000 --> 00:06:49,000
It's a very niche.

136
00:06:49,000 --> 00:06:51,000
You know we should also be careful.

137
00:06:51,000 --> 00:06:52,000
Yeah.

138
00:06:52,000 --> 00:06:53,000
Yes.

139
00:06:53,000 --> 00:06:54,000
Thanks.

140
00:06:54,000 --> 00:06:57,000
I'm coaching you in the back.

141
00:06:57,000 --> 00:06:59,000
Speaking of coaching, are we ready?

142
00:06:59,000 --> 00:07:03,000
Oh, it wasn't the best segment, but I'll, I'll pay it.

143
00:07:03,000 --> 00:07:04,000
That's good. It's nice.

144
00:07:04,000 --> 00:07:05,000
It was a good one.

145
00:07:05,000 --> 00:07:06,000
Yeah.

146
00:07:06,000 --> 00:07:07,000
Yeah.

147
00:07:07,000 --> 00:07:08,000
Thank you.

148
00:07:08,000 --> 00:07:09,000
I got a thumbs up.

149
00:07:09,000 --> 00:07:10,000
Yeah.

150
00:07:10,000 --> 00:07:11,000
Yeah.

151
00:07:11,000 --> 00:07:23,000
Between Averstan and Arcadia lies aslant, the lost continent, birthplace of humanity and the aslant empire.

152
00:07:23,000 --> 00:07:31,000
This is where a cataclysmic event that changed the history of the landmass of Galerion occurred known as Earthful.

153
00:07:31,000 --> 00:07:40,000
5,293 years before the last of the first humans, Ariden, pulled the star stone from the depths of the Inesie.

154
00:07:40,000 --> 00:07:47,000
A swarm of meteorites rained down over Galerion destroying the aslanti content, reforming and changing the land.

155
00:07:47,000 --> 00:07:58,000
This ruin was brought by the masters of humanity who found their slaves had become too proud, too selfish and murmurs of their revolution against their chains began to stir.

156
00:07:58,000 --> 00:08:07,000
Humanity was brought into light by the Al-Gothless, deep underwater creatures referring to themselves as gods.

157
00:08:07,000 --> 00:08:16,000
Some say they engineered the aslanti from ancient ancestral slave pits and gifted them intelligence and power to rule over them.

158
00:08:16,000 --> 00:08:19,000
And rule on the surface for them.

159
00:08:19,000 --> 00:08:26,000
While others claim they just pushed barbaric humans into the right technological direction to advance.

160
00:08:26,000 --> 00:08:37,000
They pulled the strings, guiding them to grow and influence the world above reaching heights of magic, technology, art and philosophy that we do not see in Galerion today.

161
00:08:37,000 --> 00:08:45,000
It's even rumored that they themselves are the gods that humanity at that time had chosen to put their faith in.

162
00:08:45,000 --> 00:08:51,000
Humanity grew and grew until an itch started in their most brilliant and gifted.

163
00:08:51,000 --> 00:08:59,000
They saw the Al-Goths influence, saw that all that they had achieved had in fact been given to them, not earned.

164
00:08:59,000 --> 00:09:06,000
This enraged the intellects, wanting to throw off their shackles and prove that humanity was more than just a race they could not stand on its own.

165
00:09:06,000 --> 00:09:15,000
Descent was soared, pride had run free, and arrogance grew as humanity strived to fight its own path.

166
00:09:15,000 --> 00:09:21,000
This angered the masters, they had invested interests on the surface and now it was crumbling within their tentacles.

167
00:09:21,000 --> 00:09:29,000
Far in the depths of space beyond the solar system, a drifting, poison riddled, unborn planet, fested.

168
00:09:29,000 --> 00:09:38,000
They Al-Gothus gathered their magical power and pulled this planet towards Galerion as a final sentence for this unruly empire.

169
00:09:38,000 --> 00:09:43,000
But as luck would have it, Galerion was given a chance to survive.

170
00:09:43,000 --> 00:09:46,000
Two of the gods of Aslan stood to save the world.

171
00:09:46,000 --> 00:09:50,000
Acavana, the goddess of the moon, and battles.

172
00:09:50,000 --> 00:09:53,000
And Amazon, God of magic.

173
00:09:53,000 --> 00:09:59,000
They both saw the destruction heading towards them, their empire, and their planet.

174
00:09:59,000 --> 00:10:10,000
At first Amazon tried to convince Acavana not to interfere as he could protect them both, but she refused stating that her love for the Aslan was more than what she had for him.

175
00:10:10,000 --> 00:10:16,000
She used all of her power to shift the moon in orbit to defend the planet.

176
00:10:16,000 --> 00:10:21,000
This did not destroy the planet hurtling towards Galerion.

177
00:10:21,000 --> 00:10:24,000
But it did break it into many pieces.

178
00:10:24,000 --> 00:10:30,000
But these many pieces pierced Acavana, destroying her and her power.

179
00:10:30,000 --> 00:10:34,000
Amazon looked on me in a horror as his lover was destroyed.

180
00:10:34,000 --> 00:10:46,000
As a final act through his grief and anger, he drew all the magical power from the Al-Gothus and the shards raining down, making them inert in power, before pushing himself over the edge of reality and vanishing from existence.

181
00:10:46,000 --> 00:10:52,000
This sacrifice led to Galerion surviving, but the Aslanti Empire was destroyed.

182
00:10:52,000 --> 00:11:00,000
Darkness engulfed the planet for the next thousand years due to the impact of the first shard, which is known as the Star Stone.

183
00:11:00,000 --> 00:11:08,000
In AR1, over 5,000 years later, the mortal Ariden found this stone in the center of the Inesie.

184
00:11:08,000 --> 00:11:15,000
He knew he had to protect humanity from the evil that brought it here, and used his magic to keep it from being misused again.

185
00:11:15,000 --> 00:11:25,000
This elevated him to Godhood, and since then, its home has been in a cathedral in the center of Absalom.

186
00:11:25,000 --> 00:11:31,000
We open up the sound of rushing water as we see a river driving forwards.

187
00:11:31,000 --> 00:11:42,000
Its shift and flows between semi-submerged rocks, locking sticks and logs into place, which had fallen from the edges of the forest that surround and cuddle this river.

188
00:11:42,000 --> 00:11:48,000
The trees are rich in browns and greens, given the impression of a fertile and life-brewding environment.

189
00:11:48,000 --> 00:11:59,000
We follow the river, watching as its speed increases, and starts developing into rapids breaking up against the weight of the rocks, producing a white bubbles as the air trapped beneath rushes to the surface.

190
00:11:59,000 --> 00:12:09,000
Eventually, the river rides forwards until it is sent hurtling down a cliffside, bouncing and spraying off outcroppings, defiantly staying standing against the current.

191
00:12:09,000 --> 00:12:16,000
The water rumbles as it hits the surface of a lake, producing a sound that echoes off the rock walls surrounding it.

192
00:12:16,000 --> 00:12:25,000
The water, now calmer, glides against to what wide shoreline, brushing up against pebbled beaches before gliding into a constructed riverway.

193
00:12:25,000 --> 00:12:32,000
And beyond the riverway is the city, the city of Sagada, gateway to the interior of Arcadia.

194
00:12:32,000 --> 00:12:46,000
The walls built to guide the river through our bricks and terracotta, deep red browns and pattern the path, intentionally in places where it's best described as mosaics and pixelated sceneries of serenity.

195
00:12:46,000 --> 00:12:53,000
Slowly, as we drift away, from the sound of the waterfall breaking the surface of the river, it is replaced with a bubbling city.

196
00:12:53,000 --> 00:13:06,000
Either side of the river we see clay buildings built in Macedonian style, cubed, clabric and coated buildings with square vents allowing air to breathe in, during the nights and out during the day.

197
00:13:06,000 --> 00:13:11,000
We see a variety of ancestries walking the streets, doing their daily chores or jobs.

198
00:13:11,000 --> 00:13:18,000
We more commonly see humans, gnomes and halflings, conversing, dressed in linen clothes and alp hacka wall shorts.

199
00:13:18,000 --> 00:13:26,000
Their hair styles varies from short and cropped to braided hair cold up on their sides to even intricately woven into horns.

200
00:13:26,000 --> 00:13:35,000
These colours are deep browns and blacks with the occasional flourish of urban and ginger. Some of these ancestries walking around have an abundance of fur under their clothes.

201
00:13:35,000 --> 00:13:43,000
And some proudly walk around with no shirt or shoes showing off more animalistic features such as long claws or padded feet.

202
00:13:43,000 --> 00:13:52,000
Amongst them you see a peculiar sight, figures make a bark, logs and twigs sprouting seedlings and leaves of stubborn branches.

203
00:13:52,000 --> 00:13:58,000
The more brittle of their kind are reinforced with bronze plates and panels nailed into wooden limbs.

204
00:13:58,000 --> 00:14:07,000
They are given polite nods and may be the occasional watchful eye, but they seem as comfortable here as any one else in the street.

205
00:14:07,000 --> 00:14:15,000
We see bazaars under linen blankets to shelter them from the sun up above decorated with threaded motifs in the style of the mosaics we saw before.

206
00:14:15,000 --> 00:14:23,000
They call out for sails towards wandering folk and a voice comes over the top of the street as we glide forwards towards a central ward nature park.

207
00:14:23,000 --> 00:14:32,000
We, Mahawak, are proud of our history. We in fact projected in everything that we build or craft for ourselves using trades or just daily routines.

208
00:14:32,000 --> 00:14:45,000
The walls of the grassland and gardens are red and brown clay bricks stacked up in poles dressed in terracotta plates and between them stands forged bronze fences with different animal heads native to the region decorating the peaks.

209
00:14:45,000 --> 00:14:54,000
We see wolves, bears, owls, foxes and amongst the occasional sturg, harpy and spider. The voice continues.

210
00:14:54,000 --> 00:15:07,000
We've kept our civilization and culture safe from the influences and conflicts of Avastan and many are afraid that following more of your kind in this way might attract the attention of less, let's say noble intentions.

211
00:15:07,000 --> 00:15:13,000
Like our history with colonialism from Chilliacs and the orphan raiders from the Lindnor kings.

212
00:15:13,000 --> 00:15:17,000
We see two figures walking down a path made of pebbles from the shore we saw before.

213
00:15:17,000 --> 00:15:24,000
Around them in the park we see tall trees with branches, shading benches and picnic areas allowing locals to relax in the warm air.

214
00:15:24,000 --> 00:15:31,000
Those are, there are many who are curious of your intentions here but the council will determine what is best cost of action.

215
00:15:31,000 --> 00:15:38,000
I'm sadly for however more of an assistant and keep in the political affairs in line with our tradition rather than a career politician.

216
00:15:38,000 --> 00:15:42,000
With these matters that's for Raak's sunway to discuss with you further.

217
00:15:42,000 --> 00:15:49,000
I'm over story teller or performer you see, our history is traditionally expressed through stories passed down through generations.

218
00:15:49,000 --> 00:15:58,000
They pass garden beds dressed in cactuses and succulents, sprouting out in array of colours and coloured pebbles and we finally see these two figures in full.

219
00:15:58,000 --> 00:16:01,000
The first is a short human.

220
00:16:01,000 --> 00:16:07,000
Olive skin dressed in blue pants, loosely tied with purple rope and a slack belt of the hip.

221
00:16:07,000 --> 00:16:14,000
A well cared for white shirt with symbols we've seen throughout the city stitched in with particular care with orange wool.

222
00:16:14,000 --> 00:16:20,000
Around his neck is a silver necklace and plate given an impression of flair and station.

223
00:16:20,000 --> 00:16:27,000
The other, unlike the rest of the crowds we've seen, feels a little bit more out of place in comparison.

224
00:16:27,000 --> 00:16:30,000
Kyle, would you like to describe your character?

225
00:16:30,000 --> 00:16:33,000
Sure, so Bobo Wackel is his name.

226
00:16:33,000 --> 00:16:39,000
He is a gripply, which is like a race of very small humanoid frogs.

227
00:16:39,000 --> 00:16:44,000
He has forest green skin and very large bright red eyes.

228
00:16:44,000 --> 00:16:55,000
He's class is an investigator. He's wearing a long brown grey coat or cloak and you can see like a slew of bandilies, long over his shoulder and belt.

229
00:16:55,000 --> 00:17:09,000
Kind of filled with small vials, tinctures, descaded herbs, ground bits of stone and you see small round bullets kind of stuffed into the bandily as well that fit into his large jazale rifle that he carries over his back.

230
00:17:09,000 --> 00:17:18,000
Bobo Wackel is from the Moongi expanse originally before he turned his life to the Pathfinder Society.

231
00:17:18,000 --> 00:17:21,000
The human pauses for a second.

232
00:17:21,000 --> 00:17:26,000
I've just realised I've been biting your ear or four and he kind of looks from side to side.

233
00:17:26,000 --> 00:17:33,000
He is off a little bit, who I've been walking through the city but I never actually asked your name.

234
00:17:33,000 --> 00:17:35,000
I am Bobo Wackel.

235
00:17:35,000 --> 00:17:38,000
Bobo Wackel, am I saying that right?

236
00:17:38,000 --> 00:17:39,000
Yes, close enough.

237
00:17:39,000 --> 00:17:43,000
Bobo Wackel, and he gives you a very deep bow because I am an a deep sky.

238
00:17:43,000 --> 00:17:46,000
I had been so wonderful to guide you through our city.

239
00:17:46,000 --> 00:17:56,000
I've heard a little bit about the Pathfinder Society and you're good intentions but rumours have circulated in this city however that your group has arrived.

240
00:17:56,000 --> 00:18:00,000
Then puts out his hand and offers you towards the path again.

241
00:18:00,000 --> 00:18:05,000
I was surprised when we were walking through the city in fact that we weren't actually accosted on the street.

242
00:18:05,000 --> 00:18:09,000
There are some here that have planned protests since you have arrived.

243
00:18:09,000 --> 00:18:17,000
And what pretend these protests in regards, the fact that we are outsiders?

244
00:18:17,000 --> 00:18:20,000
Averstannies to be exact.

245
00:18:20,000 --> 00:18:26,000
Traditionally obviously like we've had very bad experiences with them.

246
00:18:26,000 --> 00:18:36,000
As I stated that we're going through the city but a few people are a bit worried and if not intimidated by a mix of cultures coming in.

247
00:18:36,000 --> 00:18:42,000
Perhaps they now see how very friendly faces and their protests have turned to calm.

248
00:18:42,000 --> 00:18:50,000
I like to imagine like maybe a couple walks past and they both give like a may or they're nodding, he nods back and they both just kind of watch you as you walk past.

249
00:18:50,000 --> 00:18:52,000
I'll give them a big ol' grin.

250
00:18:52,000 --> 00:18:53,000
There you go.

251
00:18:53,000 --> 00:19:03,000
There's a slight smile and they just quickly hurry down the street and say, "Well I hope this remedy is after you've had your discussion with the council."

252
00:19:03,000 --> 00:19:11,000
But anyway, I can see the rest of the cohort now under the tree there and it seems, "Ah, Raak, Sanway is already there."

253
00:19:11,000 --> 00:19:12,000
Good.

254
00:19:12,000 --> 00:19:16,000
And before you stands, a 30-foot tall oak tree.

255
00:19:16,000 --> 00:19:31,000
The bark from this tree has been stripped and the wood has been carved with scenes of what appears to be humans fighting against clockwork war machines controlled by wooden individuals clad in bronze armor.

256
00:19:31,000 --> 00:19:35,000
Under this tree, we see three individuals.

257
00:19:35,000 --> 00:19:38,000
Look, would you like to introduce your character?

258
00:19:38,000 --> 00:19:54,000
Yeah, you see a familiar dark gray fird cat folk in very unassuming attire, dark, dark graze and greens with light leather.

259
00:19:54,000 --> 00:20:05,000
I, as his hood up, he's feeling a little under a watchful eye, so he's a little nervous.

260
00:20:05,000 --> 00:20:09,000
He's keeping to the shadows as much as possible.

261
00:20:09,000 --> 00:20:12,000
And next room, Bray.

262
00:20:12,000 --> 00:20:15,000
Would you like to introduce your character?

263
00:20:15,000 --> 00:20:32,000
So standing next to the cat folk is tragic. Dressed in just simple leathers or maybe like, you know, a bit of a ruffle in his white shirt.

264
00:20:32,000 --> 00:20:46,000
The tragic is a fetchling, so his skin is a kind of like a washed out kind of gray kind of dark with a shock of white hair and yellow eyes.

265
00:20:46,000 --> 00:20:53,000
Sporting a couple of, you know, knives and blades on his person, but not much else.

266
00:20:53,000 --> 00:21:03,000
And probably noticing that Thimble is maybe a little bit nervous or just like, you know, trying to just keep in the shadows.

267
00:21:03,000 --> 00:21:22,000
He would probably be playing, playing that up a little bit and maybe standing in such a way such as that his own shadow kind of reads Thimble in a bit of a darkness.

268
00:21:22,000 --> 00:21:28,000
And shadows now shifting around them, so not just static.

269
00:21:28,000 --> 00:21:34,000
The third is an olive-skinned woman dressed in a brown linen shirt and pant combo.

270
00:21:34,000 --> 00:21:42,000
Her hair is tied up in a topnut and she has an artisan's crafted band above her brown decorated with animal designs.

271
00:21:42,000 --> 00:21:48,000
She is also sporting a backpack that seems to be crafted from the corpse of a two-foot long termite.

272
00:21:48,000 --> 00:21:55,000
Cool. She quickly turns and looks and goes, "Ah, you're on it. That's so good to see you."

273
00:21:55,000 --> 00:21:58,000
And this is... Boboacal.

274
00:21:58,000 --> 00:22:01,000
Boboacal. Did I get that right?

275
00:22:01,000 --> 00:22:03,000
Yes, that's close enough.

276
00:22:03,000 --> 00:22:10,000
Close enough. These are, well, I have here with me Thimble, a catfolk, and I have here tragic.

277
00:22:10,000 --> 00:22:11,000
Pleasure.

278
00:22:11,000 --> 00:22:22,000
We can speak more comfortably here. Everyone here is ready and she kind of looks around a little bit to make sure that it's like no other setters in the ring around.

279
00:22:22,000 --> 00:22:33,000
She goes, "Well, first of all, welcome to Segeida. Don't get too distracted by the crowds. If you do your job well, you'll have more than plenty enough time to explore, if you like."

280
00:22:33,000 --> 00:22:37,000
And in a way, Charm's in a little bit goes, "Oh, just get hopelessly lost."

281
00:22:37,000 --> 00:22:41,000
And she goes, "Yes, hopelessly lost is. Can be quite common."

282
00:22:41,000 --> 00:22:51,000
The archives in Absalom found a Stargun, a relic of great powers, you most of you should know, which was stolen from Arcadia.

283
00:22:51,000 --> 00:23:01,000
We've been told stories of one such gun that were stolen from these lands many years ago, which matches the description of this item that was founded by the archive.

284
00:23:01,000 --> 00:23:07,000
The only difference is that it was found broken and sporting brands from Chilax.

285
00:23:07,000 --> 00:23:13,000
It is rumours that someone can repair this Stargun in the interior of Arcadia.

286
00:23:13,000 --> 00:23:20,000
The only issue is that we don't usually allow non- Arcadians to pass this city without permission.

287
00:23:20,000 --> 00:23:25,000
Luckily for you, we've managed to arrange a meeting with the Segeida Council.

288
00:23:25,000 --> 00:23:35,000
They'll be expecting you within the hour, and in keeping with the Segeida protocol, you'll need to convince them that your mission is worth their approval.

289
00:23:35,000 --> 00:23:39,000
And that the society should be grounded access into the interior of Arcadia.

290
00:23:39,000 --> 00:23:41,000
"Shouldn't be too hard."

291
00:23:41,000 --> 00:23:47,000
The communities here, as you may have noticed, aren't particularly friendly with outsiders.

292
00:23:47,000 --> 00:23:53,000
There are three cities that Avan's stannies are allowed to come into, and Segeida is not one.

293
00:23:53,000 --> 00:24:01,000
It is a privilege for you to be here, but I would give you a heads up that everyone here may be a slight suspicious of you.

294
00:24:01,000 --> 00:24:13,000
Some may be friendly, as through the years, people have wanted to open up to Avan's stann, but they are timid, or at least maybe a little bit afraid of what has happened before.

295
00:24:13,000 --> 00:24:15,000
But...

296
00:24:15,000 --> 00:24:23,000
What side does the Council sit on? Do they want visitors to come in? Are they afraid of us?

297
00:24:23,000 --> 00:24:27,000
It's to support one of your expressions, a mixed bag.

298
00:24:27,000 --> 00:24:36,000
The people at the Council who will be waiting for you is Takawanda, the peacekeeper, Captain, the general guards of the city.

299
00:24:36,000 --> 00:24:46,000
OYAM and SKOWAHAN, two of the high-counselors, and of course, WANAKINA, the mayor.

300
00:24:46,000 --> 00:24:57,000
Your organization's presence here, even if only in a few hours if not a day, has been contentious.

301
00:24:57,000 --> 00:25:00,000
In every house I've been in, I've heard different opinions.

302
00:25:00,000 --> 00:25:10,000
Sega Progatoco was meant to protect our land from outside invaders. Some will say that letting an Abastani organization of explorers would be in breach of that.

303
00:25:10,000 --> 00:25:18,000
What you do here will set a precedent for the future, for both your people and ours, so let's hope it turns out to be the best.

304
00:25:18,000 --> 00:25:23,000
Yeah, I was really hoping our arrival could have been a little more discreet.

305
00:25:23,000 --> 00:25:34,000
They don't really like being stared at on the street. Yes, it's sadly, and she kind of looks down at her own clothing as well as in our ways.

306
00:25:34,000 --> 00:25:40,000
Clothing in customs outside of our own is, well, foreign, to say the least.

307
00:25:40,000 --> 00:25:50,000
We had a lot of time to prepare. When you guys arrived, we got a letter momentarily earlier, and well, I've been one of the big pushes for the Pathfinders to come out here.

308
00:25:50,000 --> 00:26:00,000
We have much on the explored territory, and I personally would like to see that explored. But, obviously, that means Abastani is in the area.

309
00:26:00,000 --> 00:26:07,000
So, will you be speaking on our behalf to this council, or do we have to represent ourselves?

310
00:26:07,000 --> 00:26:18,000
Represent yourselves. I have managed, on behalf of the Pathfinders Society and for the venture captains, managed to get you the meeting, but they wanted to speak with you directly.

311
00:26:18,000 --> 00:26:28,000
But, will you be coming with us? I... sadly, I won't be in the chambers. They wanted to have a one-on-one, I think they put it.

312
00:26:28,000 --> 00:26:34,000
But, look, I'm sure everything will work out fine. We'll hear for a good cause, and you carry a good reputation.

313
00:26:34,000 --> 00:26:39,000
The council is provided you with lodgings for your stay as well, so... and that's where it in way times in quickly.

314
00:26:39,000 --> 00:26:43,000
And it's like, I think seem to actually really want to impress you. They've paid for...

315
00:26:43,000 --> 00:26:50,000
The council is completely paid for you to have rooms at the Seekers' Rest, one of the most luxurious taverns in the whole of the town.

316
00:26:50,000 --> 00:26:57,000
Don't worry, I wait, who is the owner, will keep you well fit, don't you worry. And there's a lot of important names that you'll hear in there.

317
00:26:57,000 --> 00:27:09,000
Yes, Rassar, Rakhanswe says, "We'll guide you to them once your meeting is complete, and remember, the stargun is important and powerful relic. And again, she looks around.

318
00:27:09,000 --> 00:27:18,000
Only the society and the council know that you have it. Do your best to keep its existence secret now before we head off to the meeting."

319
00:27:18,000 --> 00:27:22,000
The council knows that the society has the stargun though, yes?

320
00:27:22,000 --> 00:27:24,000
They are aware of the gun.

321
00:27:24,000 --> 00:27:33,000
Yes. Is the council... how far are our negotiations going to...

322
00:27:33,000 --> 00:27:45,000
What is the extent at which we can give in to some of the demands of the council demands of us? If they want the stargun in the end, will that be all right?

323
00:27:45,000 --> 00:27:48,000
Or is it imperative that the society keeps the stargun?

324
00:27:48,000 --> 00:27:57,000
I think that's determined by you. If you wish to leave this artifact in ORA again, pipes up quite quickly.

325
00:27:57,000 --> 00:28:04,000
As an artifact of the area, and something that's our culture, the Mawek, are known for having...

326
00:28:04,000 --> 00:28:13,000
We have stories of heroes and villains that walked around with these guns that, you know, they say, smacked him with a rock, magic would blast out of the end.

327
00:28:13,000 --> 00:28:18,000
And a... a deft onky was my favourite out of all of the stories.

328
00:28:18,000 --> 00:28:31,000
So when one is rediscovered or fixed, it's cause of a celebration. And Rakantik's way says, "Are all the mentioned, depending on who uncovered it and who was the owner?"

329
00:28:31,000 --> 00:28:32,000
Yes.

330
00:28:32,000 --> 00:28:42,000
So, as an item quite important to our culture, it can be seen as looting, which I think is a concern they have.

331
00:28:42,000 --> 00:28:57,000
But that does not mean that you need to, if you're argument for keeping it in such a way as profitable or seen as beneficial to the relationship between Averstannis and Arcadians, then there would be no reason.

332
00:28:57,000 --> 00:29:01,000
You were still in some of your priorities in different places to us.

333
00:29:01,000 --> 00:29:05,000
Yes, and I think that's what a lot of the locals are worried about.

334
00:29:05,000 --> 00:29:18,000
We want to protect what we are, protect our culture, protect our lands, as not only... we've, through history, we've been attacked by not just Averstannis, but to the north, we were attacked.

335
00:29:18,000 --> 00:29:26,000
By even cultures within, we had to fight for our land here, within this valley, and she points up towards the waterfall.

336
00:29:26,000 --> 00:29:41,000
Well, I think it's safe to say that in the hands of the society, a shunt fall into the wrong hands at the very least.

337
00:29:41,000 --> 00:29:46,000
There is no need to convince us of this severe arguments for the council.

338
00:29:46,000 --> 00:29:48,000
Yes, well, I'm just practicing.

339
00:29:48,000 --> 00:30:06,000
Nice smile of it, it's like, "Ahm, yes." Yes, I can appreciate that it is... it has taken a lot of effort for your people to reclaim the land and you're naturally reticent to open up to outsiders.

340
00:30:06,000 --> 00:30:12,000
But this relationship, I think we can convince the council it will be beneficial to all of us.

341
00:30:12,000 --> 00:30:19,000
And that they would have to bend part of the Segueida Protocols, even allowing you in this city has bent it slightly.

342
00:30:19,000 --> 00:30:22,000
As long as we bend and don't break...

343
00:30:22,000 --> 00:30:23,000
Exactly.

344
00:30:23,000 --> 00:30:35,000
Can I ask, this secret's rest and the council putting it us up in it for a seemingly lavish show of goodwill.

345
00:30:35,000 --> 00:30:53,000
Does this seem like a bold move? I'm sorry, I apologize, I can't help it be distrustful of the potential for a setup if the council doesn't like what we have to say or disagrees.

346
00:30:53,000 --> 00:30:58,000
I mean, I don't want to be stabbed in my sleep or poisoned is what I'm getting at.

347
00:30:58,000 --> 00:31:00,000
No, we understand.

348
00:31:00,000 --> 00:31:14,000
The council isn't tricked. With this stargun coming back possibly to our nation or at least us flexing the skills that we have to mend this weapon.

349
00:31:14,000 --> 00:31:26,000
A lot of them are interested and intrigued if one acclaim is true, two, who the pathfinders are as it was only recently we became aware of your presence.

350
00:31:26,000 --> 00:31:32,000
And I guess three, whether you could be trusted with an artifact of ours.

351
00:31:32,000 --> 00:31:37,000
You said the council has only recently become aware of the society?

352
00:31:37,000 --> 00:31:39,000
Within the last year or two.

353
00:31:39,000 --> 00:31:41,000
Then surely our reputation carries weight.

354
00:31:41,000 --> 00:31:44,000
Some, but not all.

355
00:31:44,000 --> 00:31:54,000
I, of course, as this came through I was designated as someone to look into your history and to the chronicles in fact and read.

356
00:31:54,000 --> 00:31:57,000
And it's an interesting company.

357
00:31:57,000 --> 00:32:09,000
I'll tell you that a lot of individual decisions, a lot of weight carried on individuals to make decisions for the society with very little influence from the governing agent themselves.

358
00:32:09,000 --> 00:32:16,000
It's if it almost is if the school is a moral school teaching you what to believe about moral thing.

359
00:32:16,000 --> 00:32:18,000
It's basically.

360
00:32:18,000 --> 00:32:25,000
I mean, we follow the same kinds of codes and creeds that you have here.

361
00:32:25,000 --> 00:32:28,000
And if anyone from the society chooses not to follow them then they know.

362
00:32:28,000 --> 00:32:40,000
I think in knowing that morally this is a good position to be into, have access to the forges that can fix and the gunsmith that can fix the stargun.

363
00:32:40,000 --> 00:32:47,000
But also a prosperous relationship that we can have between well, Segurda and the pathfinders.

364
00:32:47,000 --> 00:32:50,000
Certainly sounds advantageous.

365
00:32:50,000 --> 00:32:54,000
Might you give my colleagues and I just a brief moment before we leave.

366
00:32:54,000 --> 00:32:55,000
Of course.

367
00:32:55,000 --> 00:32:56,000
I'll tell you what.

368
00:32:56,000 --> 00:32:59,000
Me and one, I will tell them that you are on your way.

369
00:32:59,000 --> 00:33:04,000
And we'll soften the pillows, shall we say, before you arrive.

370
00:33:04,000 --> 00:33:05,000
Thank you.

371
00:33:05,000 --> 00:33:07,000
It had central into the city.

372
00:33:07,000 --> 00:33:09,000
It should not be hard to find.

373
00:33:09,000 --> 00:33:13,000
It's one of the only like beautiful and not beautiful.

374
00:33:13,000 --> 00:33:14,000
A lot of our buildings are beautiful.

375
00:33:14,000 --> 00:33:17,000
I mean maybe like, biggest and prestigious.

376
00:33:17,000 --> 00:33:19,000
Look for that central building.

377
00:33:19,000 --> 00:33:26,000
If not, if not, the guards are friendly and should not worry.

378
00:33:26,000 --> 00:33:29,000
Thank you, Raak Sunway and thank you, my deep sky.

379
00:33:29,000 --> 00:33:35,000
And he bows for your patience with us and for letting us into your fine city.

380
00:33:35,000 --> 00:33:38,000
Pleasure will meet up with you after the meeting.

381
00:33:38,000 --> 00:33:42,000
And they both turn around and start walking away.

382
00:33:42,000 --> 00:33:49,000
Well, that went better than I thought, I guess.

383
00:33:49,000 --> 00:33:51,000
I had heard stories of this place.

384
00:33:51,000 --> 00:33:54,000
I had heard that they were very hostile to outsiders.

385
00:33:54,000 --> 00:33:59,000
So to be in the city and to not instantly feel under threat, I think it is a good sign.

386
00:33:59,000 --> 00:34:01,000
Yeah, I agree.

387
00:34:01,000 --> 00:34:08,000
I have gotten some strange looks from some of the people as we've been wandering through,

388
00:34:08,000 --> 00:34:11,000
but no outright hostility, which is nice.

389
00:34:11,000 --> 00:34:17,000
I have found that a big smile goes a long way to help settle this stomachs.

390
00:34:17,000 --> 00:34:23,000
I don't know, something about this place doesn't make me feel like smiling.

391
00:34:23,000 --> 00:34:28,000
I mean, it likes trees for sure, but look around at the beautiful architecture.

392
00:34:28,000 --> 00:34:30,000
Yeah, very opulent.

393
00:34:30,000 --> 00:34:34,000
Alright, so, what do you think we should do here, guys?

394
00:34:34,000 --> 00:34:40,000
I know this is a delicate sort of diplomatic situation we've found ourselves in.

395
00:34:40,000 --> 00:34:44,000
How do you think we should approach this?

396
00:34:44,000 --> 00:34:53,000
I think we tell them what the society is and what it stands for.

397
00:34:53,000 --> 00:35:03,000
And well, that generally, if we find relics such as this,

398
00:35:03,000 --> 00:35:09,000
that we have come across, that we will look after it and ensure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

399
00:35:09,000 --> 00:35:13,000
I was going to say, I think perhaps then the biggest question would be,

400
00:35:13,000 --> 00:35:17,000
why must we take it for repairs if it's going to sit as an artifact and a relic?

401
00:35:17,000 --> 00:35:19,000
What answer do we have for this?

402
00:35:19,000 --> 00:35:21,000
Research purposes.

403
00:35:21,000 --> 00:35:25,000
We seek to expand our knowledge of all.

404
00:35:25,000 --> 00:35:28,000
Yes, but would it come across that way?

405
00:35:28,000 --> 00:35:35,000
If I came into your home and I said, give me these two pieces of a broken weapon and I'm going to fix it.

406
00:35:35,000 --> 00:35:39,000
And then take it away. Would you not be inherently hostile to that?

407
00:35:39,000 --> 00:35:43,000
Are you going to flash me that big smile to make me trust you?

408
00:35:43,000 --> 00:35:46,000
Yes, and I'll give them a big ol' grin.

409
00:35:46,000 --> 00:35:49,000
Well then, of course.

410
00:35:49,000 --> 00:35:54,000
So, to sum them with that smile, but we'll aquiland.

411
00:35:54,000 --> 00:35:56,000
We can start from there.

412
00:35:56,000 --> 00:36:00,000
I don't know what kind of promises we can make though that will be actually...

413
00:36:00,000 --> 00:36:12,000
I mean, we represent the Pathfinder, it's true, but we can't be held accountable for future actions that potentially happen with this weapon.

414
00:36:12,000 --> 00:36:14,000
This is correct.

415
00:36:14,000 --> 00:36:18,000
Well, I think that is kind of where the mistrust might come from.

416
00:36:18,000 --> 00:36:20,000
It doesn't matter how much they trust us.

417
00:36:20,000 --> 00:36:26,000
If we pass it off to someone with ill intent, then, you know, it's not going to end well for anyone.

418
00:36:26,000 --> 00:36:37,000
Well, see, their issue is that they don't seem to... right now, in any case, they don't separate the Pathfinder from the rest of Avestan.

419
00:36:37,000 --> 00:36:40,000
Like, we're all one and the same to them.

420
00:36:40,000 --> 00:36:49,000
So, I think it's crucial that we make it known that we're just not Avestani, where the Pathfinder society is wholly unique.

421
00:36:49,000 --> 00:37:01,000
Yes, and I think perhaps handing them maybe some literature to Peruz and Tragic is going to rummage through his little satchel.

422
00:37:01,000 --> 00:37:05,000
This is one that I am particularly fond of, is...

423
00:37:05,000 --> 00:37:08,000
Are you going to give them a sermon, are you?

424
00:37:08,000 --> 00:37:17,000
No, it's not a sermon, it's a story, a compilation of, I'm sure, you two know,

425
00:37:17,000 --> 00:37:31,000
one Dervon guest, the greatest, if not... not the greatest, then among the greatest of Pathfinders, one of the OGs, as it were.

426
00:37:31,000 --> 00:37:33,000
Sounds like a sermon to me.

427
00:37:33,000 --> 00:37:37,000
Well, depends on your philosophical outlook, doesn't it?

428
00:37:37,000 --> 00:37:47,000
Thimble, you would know this Pathfinder, as you saw his statue underneath Pathfinder's lodge, in Absalom.

429
00:37:47,000 --> 00:37:50,000
I just thought I might drop that slightly in half if you'd...

430
00:37:50,000 --> 00:37:52,000
One of the greats, for sure.

431
00:37:52,000 --> 00:38:00,000
I mean, if that's not enough to convince them that the Pathfinders are here to do good, then they're not going to be convinced in my opinion.

432
00:38:00,000 --> 00:38:13,000
I think if we can bring it back to the fact that the Pathfinders follow a creed similar to their own, that we are here to help, and, you know, like you said Thimble, we are not ever stony.

433
00:38:13,000 --> 00:38:15,000
I mean, we are.

434
00:38:15,000 --> 00:38:19,000
That's the problem, but we just can't... we have to differentiate us.

435
00:38:19,000 --> 00:38:21,000
Not to hold it, exactly.

436
00:38:21,000 --> 00:38:25,000
Well, I mean, I know you guys, I mean, I'm from Absthan, I don't know.

437
00:38:25,000 --> 00:38:34,000
Yes, well, I was going to say, speak for yourselves, but I myself am not a... a vistani, but...

438
00:38:34,000 --> 00:38:37,000
Look, I'm just a simple broken land boy, okay.

439
00:38:37,000 --> 00:38:44,000
My whole world was a small patch in the Moongi before I decided to join the Pathfinders.

440
00:38:44,000 --> 00:38:54,000
Well, I have a plan. I don't know if you guys are okay with this, but I've got an idea for if this really goes south,

441
00:38:54,000 --> 00:39:06,000
I've got an idea for how I could maybe ease some tension, or at least get us out of there with the star gun if this goes really badly.

442
00:39:06,000 --> 00:39:08,000
Is it magic?

443
00:39:08,000 --> 00:39:09,000
It is, yeah.

444
00:39:09,000 --> 00:39:11,000
I'm for it, let's do it, okay.

445
00:39:11,000 --> 00:39:12,000
Okay, I don't even know.

446
00:39:12,000 --> 00:39:14,000
I don't even know the details, it's okay.

447
00:39:14,000 --> 00:39:19,000
I'm sure you will do the right thing at the right time, Thimble. I have trust in you.

448
00:39:19,000 --> 00:39:26,000
So, what is not, which I haven't explained yet, is you guys don't actually have the star gun on you.

449
00:39:26,000 --> 00:39:32,000
Another path to your Pathfinders, in fact, has that, but you are unaware of where that is.

450
00:39:32,000 --> 00:39:34,000
Ah, oh!

451
00:39:34,000 --> 00:39:37,000
Yeah, so we're not going to see it in the Council chambers?

452
00:39:37,000 --> 00:39:38,000
No, like me.

453
00:39:38,000 --> 00:39:45,000
No, another group of Pathfinders have already taken it somewhere, you, as as much as you know, but you don't actually have it yourselves.

454
00:39:45,000 --> 00:39:54,000
You are arguing, you are going to argue, yes, this is only the ash, to Adley had not written in the intro, but you are the second party coming here.

455
00:39:54,000 --> 00:39:57,000
The first party have it, but it's in...

456
00:39:57,000 --> 00:39:59,000
Are they currently in Segata?

457
00:39:59,000 --> 00:40:02,000
Not Segata, but one of three cities, you're not...

458
00:40:02,000 --> 00:40:09,000
You would add a guess, you would expect it's one of three cities that the Avan Stanley are allowed to be in.

459
00:40:09,000 --> 00:40:10,000
And trade through it.

460
00:40:10,000 --> 00:40:12,000
That changes my plan somewhat.

461
00:40:12,000 --> 00:40:13,000
Yeah.

462
00:40:13,000 --> 00:40:26,000
At least then we can walk away with our limbs intact and maybe not our pride, but I don't think there is too much of a chance of conflict this day.

463
00:40:26,000 --> 00:40:30,000
Yeah, well at least the stakes are a little lower than, yeah, okay.

464
00:40:30,000 --> 00:40:33,000
I guess we should probably make our way there, make our introductions.

465
00:40:33,000 --> 00:40:35,000
Yes, yes.

466
00:40:35,000 --> 00:40:36,000
All right.

467
00:40:36,000 --> 00:40:42,000
I want everyone to roam me a society check, because I want to lay down some information that you may or may not have known over the couple of.

468
00:40:42,000 --> 00:40:50,000
The amount of time you've been spent here and or maybe some time in between during the journey you may have researched and I just want to kind of gather up.

469
00:40:50,000 --> 00:40:53,000
Another thing, so a society check, first of all.

470
00:40:53,000 --> 00:40:54,000
19.

471
00:40:54,000 --> 00:40:55,000
19.

472
00:40:55,000 --> 00:40:57,000
17.

473
00:40:57,000 --> 00:41:00,000
17.

474
00:41:00,000 --> 00:41:01,000
And...

475
00:41:01,000 --> 00:41:02,000
And a nine.

476
00:41:02,000 --> 00:41:03,000
And a nine, okay.

477
00:41:03,000 --> 00:41:04,000
That's okay.

478
00:41:04,000 --> 00:41:06,000
None of them are critical fails.

479
00:41:06,000 --> 00:41:20,000
Um, Thimble you probably wouldn't know, but I'm unsure after a couple of discussions with these guys, you'd know that the, uh, the Sagada protocol itself was agreed upon by multiple Arcadian nations to protect the continent from exploitation.

480
00:41:20,000 --> 00:41:29,000
It limits the actions of a standing nations can take on Arcadian soil and most notably preventing colonization and controlling access to the interior.

481
00:41:29,000 --> 00:41:32,000
That's the main thing that's all about.

482
00:41:32,000 --> 00:41:41,000
You also, I will give you now the three, the four, sorry, the four laws that are dictated within this protocol.

483
00:41:41,000 --> 00:41:46,000
The first one being that the settlement is restricted to specific locations on the grinding coach.

484
00:41:46,000 --> 00:41:49,000
Canaryse, Ankerzend, and Elsemir.

485
00:41:49,000 --> 00:41:58,000
These are the three cities that are not as big as the current citizens, uh, Sagaya, but they are the ones that...

486
00:41:58,000 --> 00:42:03,000
Arcadians are allowed to travel to and make trade if that's what they wish to do.

487
00:42:03,000 --> 00:42:16,000
The second is approval from authorities from participating Arcadian nations as well as presence of an Arcadian guide as required before any colonists can access the continent's interior.

488
00:42:16,000 --> 00:42:17,000
This is your intention.

489
00:42:17,000 --> 00:42:18,000
You wish to go to the interior.

490
00:42:18,000 --> 00:42:25,000
You need to discuss this with the council so that you may get a guide and you will have a guard.

491
00:42:25,000 --> 00:42:37,000
The third one, X, X, Patriation of income from trade between the colonies and Arcadians nations is limited to 15%.

492
00:42:37,000 --> 00:42:43,000
You are only allowed to take 15% of all sales made within Arcadia outside of its borders.

493
00:42:43,000 --> 00:42:51,000
And lastly, Arcadian tolerance of colonies ends if their inhabitants fail to maintain peace with Arcadian nations.

494
00:42:51,000 --> 00:42:58,000
So from the... it sounds as though there's like some of a study colonies on the coast.

495
00:42:58,000 --> 00:43:01,000
Okay. But there'll be an in those three cities that you may have seen.

496
00:43:01,000 --> 00:43:06,000
Yes. So I've pulled up a map for you of Northern Arcadia so you can see where you are on the map.

497
00:43:06,000 --> 00:43:12,000
And I'll share this on the socials, check out the socials out in the social media, on social media, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter.

498
00:43:12,000 --> 00:43:15,000
And you'll be able to see the map as well because I will share that.

499
00:43:15,000 --> 00:43:21,000
And it's what's character, pictures. So they will be on the grinding coast, which is towards the south.

500
00:43:21,000 --> 00:43:26,000
So Arcadia is traditionally exclusively Arcadian.

501
00:43:26,000 --> 00:43:34,000
But you guys have been allowed to access possibly because the council here are interested in where the Pathfinder Society has to offer.

502
00:43:34,000 --> 00:43:38,000
If not, how a Pathfinder Society can help.

503
00:43:38,000 --> 00:43:47,000
Because a big part of the Pathfinder Society is not only going where no other person is gone, but also maintaining what they find when they get there.

504
00:43:47,000 --> 00:43:50,000
Which you'll get in the feeling is very important here.

505
00:43:50,000 --> 00:44:06,000
Maintaining tradition, maintaining that the interests of Avastand, which is the NSC, to the North, the Five Kings Mountains, even the Mowangi Expanse, all considered Avastand as it is a separate continent to this one.

506
00:44:06,000 --> 00:44:14,000
That their interests are not put above Arcadians. And that's where we're going to leave it for this episode.

507
00:44:14,000 --> 00:44:21,000
Though it's not a rare occurrence for the Pathfinder Society to embark on diplomatic missions, it's a first for our adventures.

508
00:44:21,000 --> 00:44:29,000
Keeping sword and magic at bay and instead using their voice of reason, the Pathfinders must convince the council their mission is just and fair.

509
00:44:29,000 --> 00:44:32,000
But will the city feel the same? Will the locals allow them safe passage?

510
00:44:32,000 --> 00:44:41,000
Or will this mission see the Pathfinders considered as invaders from another land? Find out next time on Savage Bear Society.

511
