Savage Bear Society: Negotiations for the Star Gun - Part 3
Show Notes Transcript

The people of Segada have started to show their dissent towards the Pathfinders, feeling that the presence of foreigners will once again force them into servitude. While confronting a crowd of concerned local citizens, our three adventurers were attacked!
Though oddly enough, the attackers seemed to be simple wild animals. Perhaps this city has more beneath its shroud than The Pathfinder Society could have ever anticipated...

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:04,540
Last time on Savage Bear Society.

2
00:00:04,540 --> 00:00:09,040
Oh, if there's one thing I've learned from my short time in this foreign land, it's

3
00:00:09,040 --> 00:00:10,440
don't trust the animals.

4
00:00:10,440 --> 00:00:14,280
I thought we had it tough in the Mwangi, but at least we never had to fight giant spiders

5
00:00:14,280 --> 00:00:15,960
or intelligent foxes.

6
00:00:15,960 --> 00:00:19,780
It doesn't help that we don't seem to have made a very good impression on the locals,

7
00:00:19,780 --> 00:00:21,840
nearly got caught up in a riot.

8
00:00:21,840 --> 00:00:25,240
The political situation here will be tricky to navigate.

9
00:00:25,240 --> 00:00:28,200
This mission might be harder than we first thought.

10
00:00:28,200 --> 00:00:45,200
[Music]

11
00:00:45,200 --> 00:00:51,840
You slash through with not only your blade, but with the buffering power of force,

12
00:00:51,840 --> 00:00:59,640
spelling blood across the alleyway and it is the end of combat.

13
00:00:59,640 --> 00:01:03,160
Does anyone else really not feel great?

14
00:01:03,160 --> 00:01:11,000
And are you guys not covered in this, in New Gesture, vaguely, to the entire spider

15
00:01:11,000 --> 00:01:14,480
carcass that is covering him?

16
00:01:14,480 --> 00:01:15,480
Nice, awful.

17
00:01:15,480 --> 00:01:18,080
Oh, yes, that was my bad.

18
00:01:18,080 --> 00:01:20,760
I sort of freaked out a little.

19
00:01:20,760 --> 00:01:25,840
Well thank you for the freaking out because I think you saved my skin in there.

20
00:01:25,840 --> 00:01:27,080
Maybe it's just...

21
00:01:27,080 --> 00:01:30,520
Can I ask another question?

22
00:01:30,520 --> 00:01:32,080
What the fuck?

23
00:01:32,080 --> 00:01:33,080
Yeah.

24
00:01:33,080 --> 00:01:34,080
Sure.

25
00:01:34,080 --> 00:01:37,360
I felt like you were just about to make friends with them.

26
00:01:37,360 --> 00:01:38,360
Yeah, what was that?

27
00:01:38,360 --> 00:01:39,360
I don't know.

28
00:01:39,360 --> 00:01:40,680
I really liked foxes.

29
00:01:40,680 --> 00:01:47,240
I had a buddy fox back in his back home, but those were awful.

30
00:01:47,240 --> 00:01:51,080
I'd like to look and see what the crowd is doing.

31
00:01:51,080 --> 00:01:53,560
I'm going to keep my rifle up at a level.

32
00:01:53,560 --> 00:01:56,280
Yeah, I'm going to do the exact same thing.

33
00:01:56,280 --> 00:02:02,440
Keep my rifle up, like pointing at people, but like down, pointing down at the ground so

34
00:02:02,440 --> 00:02:03,440
I can wait for it to be ready.

35
00:02:03,440 --> 00:02:04,440
Yeah, just ready.

36
00:02:04,440 --> 00:02:05,440
You got a low-ready?

37
00:02:05,440 --> 00:02:06,600
Yeah.

38
00:02:06,600 --> 00:02:10,040
Can I turn to a tragic and treat wounds?

39
00:02:10,040 --> 00:02:11,040
Yes you can.

40
00:02:11,040 --> 00:02:12,040
Hell yeah.

41
00:02:12,040 --> 00:02:14,440
Now, you say hell yeah.

42
00:02:14,440 --> 00:02:15,440
Oh boy.

43
00:02:15,440 --> 00:02:16,440
Yeah.

44
00:02:16,440 --> 00:02:19,760
Medicine roll.

45
00:02:19,760 --> 00:02:22,400
But anyone like to aid?

46
00:02:22,400 --> 00:02:26,680
I have treat wounds as well, so I can aid, I suppose.

47
00:02:26,680 --> 00:02:27,680
Yeah.

48
00:02:27,680 --> 00:02:29,680
I mean, how about...

49
00:02:29,680 --> 00:02:30,680
How about...

50
00:02:30,680 --> 00:02:33,200
Well, you've got your gun up, so it doesn't really make sense to me.

51
00:02:33,200 --> 00:02:36,320
Yeah, you just give them hints every now and again, you're tired, a bit tired of that.

52
00:02:36,320 --> 00:02:37,320
No, not that.

53
00:02:37,320 --> 00:02:38,320
Tuck it in there.

54
00:02:38,320 --> 00:02:39,320
Yeah, no, do that kind of fold.

55
00:02:39,320 --> 00:02:40,320
Like, yeah.

56
00:02:40,320 --> 00:02:41,320
And like, over your shoulder.

57
00:02:41,320 --> 00:02:43,320
Make sure you get it nice and tight.

58
00:02:43,320 --> 00:02:45,560
The more it hurts, the more it gets better, right?

59
00:02:45,560 --> 00:02:47,320
Give me a medicine check.

60
00:02:47,320 --> 00:02:49,680
You're aiming for a 15, Kyle.

61
00:02:49,680 --> 00:02:50,680
If you credit, it gets plus two.

62
00:02:50,680 --> 00:02:51,680
Me or Locke?

63
00:02:51,680 --> 00:02:52,680
Oh, alright, alright.

64
00:02:52,680 --> 00:02:53,680
Yeah.

65
00:02:53,680 --> 00:02:54,680
For the help thing.

66
00:02:54,680 --> 00:02:55,680
For the help thing.

67
00:02:55,680 --> 00:02:58,280
I've got a 10 on the dice, my medicine is 6, so 16.

68
00:02:58,280 --> 00:03:00,120
Cool, you got a plus one to this roll.

69
00:03:00,120 --> 00:03:01,120
Nice.

70
00:03:01,120 --> 00:03:02,120
Timble.

71
00:03:02,120 --> 00:03:03,120
That is enough.

72
00:03:03,120 --> 00:03:04,120
That is a 17.

73
00:03:04,120 --> 00:03:05,120
Cool.

74
00:03:05,120 --> 00:03:07,120
Alright, you get to do the heal.

75
00:03:07,120 --> 00:03:08,120
That's 1D8.

76
00:03:08,120 --> 00:03:09,120
Not 2D8.

77
00:03:09,120 --> 00:03:10,120
2D8.

78
00:03:10,120 --> 00:03:11,120
No, you roll it.

79
00:03:11,120 --> 00:03:12,120
Me.

80
00:03:12,120 --> 00:03:13,120
Yeah.

81
00:03:13,120 --> 00:03:17,040
It's 9.

82
00:03:17,040 --> 00:03:18,040
That's something.

83
00:03:18,040 --> 00:03:22,360
That gives me a total of 14, which is not bad.

84
00:03:22,360 --> 00:03:25,440
Not bad, it's not the worst.

85
00:03:25,440 --> 00:03:31,160
And as you come to the end of this, you see from around the corner, Kauari, kind of like,

86
00:03:31,160 --> 00:03:35,040
you hear her walking stick on the ground, which you realize she doesn't use all that much.

87
00:03:35,040 --> 00:03:38,120
She has it there as like, you know, like a respect thing.

88
00:03:38,120 --> 00:03:39,120
Coming.

89
00:03:39,120 --> 00:03:40,960
Yeah, like, like, kind of thing.

90
00:03:40,960 --> 00:03:45,720
And you hear the tongue, tongue, tongue, tongue in the hear.

91
00:03:45,720 --> 00:03:46,720
What is...

92
00:03:46,720 --> 00:03:48,200
Are you alright?

93
00:03:48,200 --> 00:03:49,200
What happened here?

94
00:03:49,200 --> 00:03:55,400
And you hear her rush as much as she can up to you and look over you and go, "Am I allowed

95
00:03:55,400 --> 00:03:56,400
to say no?"

96
00:03:56,400 --> 00:04:00,600
"I'm not feeling that great, actually."

97
00:04:00,600 --> 00:04:03,120
Currently covered in...

98
00:04:03,120 --> 00:04:05,680
I can only assume is spider.

99
00:04:05,680 --> 00:04:12,000
She's like, "It's covered your beads and... hmm.

100
00:04:12,000 --> 00:04:16,560
Yeah, it may have ruined the cloak, but these... and she kind of gives like one of the foxes,

101
00:04:16,560 --> 00:04:21,120
the one with the blowed out head from the rifle.

102
00:04:21,120 --> 00:04:23,880
She gives it like a bit of a poke and she goes, "These?

103
00:04:23,880 --> 00:04:24,880
What?

104
00:04:24,880 --> 00:04:25,880
Where did they come from?"

105
00:04:25,880 --> 00:04:26,880
This...

106
00:04:26,880 --> 00:04:31,000
Well, I was going to ask the same question, Kauari, is...

107
00:04:31,000 --> 00:04:38,560
Are attacks in the city from odd creatures necessarily common of late?

108
00:04:38,560 --> 00:04:39,560
No.

109
00:04:39,560 --> 00:04:42,360
We don't see this kind of attitude from the animals.

110
00:04:42,360 --> 00:04:47,360
We've quite a good connection with animals, in fact, within our cultures, but these animals

111
00:04:47,360 --> 00:04:50,640
in particular definitely not.

112
00:04:50,640 --> 00:04:51,640
Something strange.

113
00:04:51,640 --> 00:04:57,040
You know, of any beast tamers or something that have a grudge against outsiders?

114
00:04:57,040 --> 00:04:59,880
Not that I know of.

115
00:04:59,880 --> 00:05:01,680
This is something new.

116
00:05:01,680 --> 00:05:07,320
This may not necessarily be outside of fear, but whatever your business is in the city.

117
00:05:07,320 --> 00:05:11,280
Kauari, we can...

118
00:05:11,280 --> 00:05:15,760
She kind of looks just like, "I don't... the crowd has calmed down."

119
00:05:15,760 --> 00:05:16,760
I can...

120
00:05:16,760 --> 00:05:20,800
I'll say a word or two, and the bodies can be disposed of, but we should be up to get

121
00:05:20,800 --> 00:05:21,800
you through the streets now.

122
00:05:21,800 --> 00:05:25,400
They've departed, but I would say this might...

123
00:05:25,400 --> 00:05:30,560
There's someone who's intrigued of what you're doing here, and not necessarily doesn't want

124
00:05:30,560 --> 00:05:33,880
you here, but is curious of what you're doing now.

125
00:05:33,880 --> 00:05:36,000
I would not mention this to the council.

126
00:05:36,000 --> 00:05:40,400
They could bode badly against you, especially if your presence here is...

127
00:05:40,400 --> 00:05:43,800
Let's say, excited, the populist and something.

128
00:05:43,800 --> 00:05:46,960
Are people here superstitious?

129
00:05:46,960 --> 00:05:49,400
Well, I hate to...

130
00:05:49,400 --> 00:05:50,400
You know...

131
00:05:50,400 --> 00:05:54,400
Well, I mean, apart from anything else, look at the state we're in.

132
00:05:54,400 --> 00:05:57,320
I mean, I can hardly deny we've been attacked.

133
00:05:57,320 --> 00:05:58,320
You're quite right.

134
00:05:58,320 --> 00:05:59,320
Well, it's...

135
00:05:59,320 --> 00:06:01,000
Again, it's up to you.

136
00:06:01,000 --> 00:06:02,000
Could you help?

137
00:06:02,000 --> 00:06:03,000
In what way?

138
00:06:03,000 --> 00:06:05,520
Do you know anyone who could help?

139
00:06:05,520 --> 00:06:07,320
Speak on your mom.

140
00:06:07,320 --> 00:06:08,320
Come be a cat thing.

141
00:06:08,320 --> 00:06:11,160
I can help fix your elements.

142
00:06:11,160 --> 00:06:12,160
I...

143
00:06:12,160 --> 00:06:14,640
I don't...

144
00:06:14,640 --> 00:06:20,640
I can find something, perhaps, but your bath find is right?

145
00:06:20,640 --> 00:06:22,600
You do with these things.

146
00:06:22,600 --> 00:06:23,600
Sure.

147
00:06:23,600 --> 00:06:24,600
Sure.

148
00:06:24,600 --> 00:06:27,320
If you want to prove that you're where they are.

149
00:06:27,320 --> 00:06:28,320
Bow, can you help us out?

150
00:06:28,320 --> 00:06:29,320
Please, I'm...

151
00:06:29,320 --> 00:06:30,320
I'm smart.

152
00:06:30,320 --> 00:06:33,920
I'll give you the natural medicine of my mungi people.

153
00:06:33,920 --> 00:06:34,920
Thank you.

154
00:06:34,920 --> 00:06:36,640
As long as it's not spider venom.

155
00:06:36,640 --> 00:06:39,760
I can assure you it's probably the opposite of spider venom.

156
00:06:39,760 --> 00:06:40,760
Okay, cool.

157
00:06:40,760 --> 00:06:42,760
I'll pull out some herbs and...

158
00:06:42,760 --> 00:06:43,760
Oh.

159
00:06:43,760 --> 00:06:46,160
I'll think you're gonna say, like, you lick his wound or something as a frog?

160
00:06:46,160 --> 00:06:47,160
Yeah, I like that.

161
00:06:47,160 --> 00:06:48,160
I like to...

162
00:06:48,160 --> 00:06:49,160
I like to...

163
00:06:49,160 --> 00:06:53,240
It's like pondering why the opposite of spider venom would be.

164
00:06:53,240 --> 00:06:54,240
Well, I have a thing...

165
00:06:54,240 --> 00:06:58,320
I have a natural medicine, which gives me a plus to treat wounds if...

166
00:06:58,320 --> 00:07:00,080
And I can use nature.

167
00:07:00,080 --> 00:07:01,080
Oh.

168
00:07:01,080 --> 00:07:02,080
Oh, instead of...

169
00:07:02,080 --> 00:07:03,080
To do it.

170
00:07:03,080 --> 00:07:04,080
Instead of medicine.

171
00:07:04,080 --> 00:07:05,080
That's very nice.

172
00:07:05,080 --> 00:07:06,080
Yeah.

173
00:07:06,080 --> 00:07:08,080
17 plus nature is eight...

174
00:07:08,080 --> 00:07:09,080
That's a crit.

175
00:07:09,080 --> 00:07:10,080
25 plus the two.

176
00:07:10,080 --> 00:07:11,080
Nice.

177
00:07:11,080 --> 00:07:12,080
That is a crit.

178
00:07:12,080 --> 00:07:13,080
So you're gonna get a hit back.

179
00:07:13,080 --> 00:07:14,080
Oh, what's a crit?

180
00:07:14,080 --> 00:07:15,080
Double stab.

181
00:07:15,080 --> 00:07:18,080
This is the first time I've ever healed anybody in Pathfinder.

182
00:07:18,080 --> 00:07:19,080
Yeah, 48.

183
00:07:19,080 --> 00:07:20,080
Is it 48 or is it 48?

184
00:07:20,080 --> 00:07:23,080
No, it's 28 plus 10 if you aim for...

185
00:07:23,080 --> 00:07:24,080
Oh, if you aim for the...

186
00:07:24,080 --> 00:07:25,080
Yeah, for the higher...

187
00:07:25,080 --> 00:07:28,800
If you aim for 20, it's 28 plus 10 and then it's more.

188
00:07:28,800 --> 00:07:29,800
Yeah.

189
00:07:29,800 --> 00:07:30,800
What'd you get, like, 15?

190
00:07:30,800 --> 00:07:31,800
Woo!

191
00:07:31,800 --> 00:07:32,800
Not bad.

192
00:07:32,800 --> 00:07:33,800
So...

193
00:07:33,800 --> 00:07:34,800
Fix you right up.

194
00:07:34,800 --> 00:07:35,800
And you were, I found out recently.

195
00:07:35,800 --> 00:07:36,800
Thank you, my friend.

196
00:07:36,800 --> 00:07:41,000
The wounded condition only disappears if you do physical healing, not magical.

197
00:07:41,000 --> 00:07:42,000
Mm-hmm.

198
00:07:42,000 --> 00:07:43,000
That is great.

199
00:07:43,000 --> 00:07:44,000
Mm-hmm.

200
00:07:44,000 --> 00:07:45,000
Yep.

201
00:07:45,000 --> 00:07:46,000
Mm-hmm.

202
00:07:46,000 --> 00:07:48,000
Well, I'm back to four, thanks, of that.

203
00:07:48,000 --> 00:07:51,880
So everyone looks healthy apart from the shadow there.

204
00:07:51,880 --> 00:07:52,880
Try it.

205
00:07:52,880 --> 00:07:58,560
Yeah, as I said, that's why in Extinction Curse Adam, we very rarely had the wounded condition

206
00:07:58,560 --> 00:08:00,360
because you were just doing all the healing, yeah.

207
00:08:00,360 --> 00:08:01,760
Early doing physical healing.

208
00:08:01,760 --> 00:08:02,760
Yeah, that makes sense.

209
00:08:02,760 --> 00:08:04,360
That makes a lot of sense.

210
00:08:04,360 --> 00:08:07,280
You wander back out into the streets and the crowd.

211
00:08:07,280 --> 00:08:10,800
Some of them notice the new stains perhaps or maybe they're not sure.

212
00:08:10,800 --> 00:08:17,880
As I say, before we wander out, tragic wood tidy himself and slash or whatever

213
00:08:17,880 --> 00:08:19,560
else would like to be prostituted.

214
00:08:19,560 --> 00:08:20,560
Oh, right, yeah, perfect.

215
00:08:20,560 --> 00:08:21,560
Oh, yes, please.

216
00:08:21,560 --> 00:08:22,560
Please.

217
00:08:22,560 --> 00:08:26,960
You prostitute everyone and clean off the clothes, make it all look nice and clean and

218
00:08:26,960 --> 00:08:27,960
steam.

219
00:08:27,960 --> 00:08:31,720
Oh, yeah, actually, yeah, I can do that too.

220
00:08:31,720 --> 00:08:35,280
And I thought it was like a bold gesture earlier, but I'm just going to put my clothes back

221
00:08:35,280 --> 00:08:41,200
on, I feel a little bit more weird.

222
00:08:41,200 --> 00:08:45,680
And um, and Kawari leads you back onto the street.

223
00:08:45,680 --> 00:08:49,160
You were a bit more haste this time because you know, time has been spent out here.

224
00:08:49,160 --> 00:08:54,560
She says, I can make excuses for you for why you were late.

225
00:08:54,560 --> 00:08:59,760
Let me, let me, let me, and she like moves you through the crowd and pushes you through.

226
00:08:59,760 --> 00:09:02,160
And to be finally get to the central square.

227
00:09:02,160 --> 00:09:06,320
And this is where you see this beautiful building.

228
00:09:06,320 --> 00:09:10,840
And this building is, again, very grand compared to the rest.

229
00:09:10,840 --> 00:09:13,840
The rest, obviously, made out of clay bricks and a lot of terracotta.

230
00:09:13,840 --> 00:09:17,160
This one is almost sandstone and marble.

231
00:09:17,160 --> 00:09:23,520
You can tell it's the head of where the local areas decisions are made.

232
00:09:23,520 --> 00:09:24,520
It's where the laws are maintained.

233
00:09:24,520 --> 00:09:27,160
It's almost a courthouse, but it looks a bit.

234
00:09:27,160 --> 00:09:32,600
But what's interesting is that you see it, the flag flying there, the Arcadian flag, which

235
00:09:32,600 --> 00:09:39,040
is a black strip at the top, white kind of icy looking strip in the center, and at the

236
00:09:39,040 --> 00:09:40,880
bottom a green strip.

237
00:09:40,880 --> 00:09:43,200
But in the center, you see a circle.

238
00:09:43,200 --> 00:09:48,000
And within that circle, you see two mountains and a river flowing away from it, as well

239
00:09:48,000 --> 00:09:51,080
as a key in it.

240
00:09:51,080 --> 00:09:57,480
And this is where Koani says, right, you're at the house of keys.

241
00:09:57,480 --> 00:09:58,480
Be careful.

242
00:09:58,480 --> 00:10:00,520
Well, I don't know why I'm saying be careful.

243
00:10:00,520 --> 00:10:01,520
That good luck.

244
00:10:01,520 --> 00:10:02,520
How's that?

245
00:10:02,520 --> 00:10:03,520
Is that enough?

246
00:10:03,520 --> 00:10:04,520
Thank you.

247
00:10:04,520 --> 00:10:09,840
Luck and care both probably require this situation, but thank you.

248
00:10:09,840 --> 00:10:11,360
That's right.

249
00:10:11,360 --> 00:10:15,520
I was standing by the decision that the other council persons decide.

250
00:10:15,520 --> 00:10:19,040
I'm intrigued by you, Pathfinders.

251
00:10:19,040 --> 00:10:25,280
In the past, I was, I wouldn't say afraid, but worried, maybe perhaps, about your intentions

252
00:10:25,280 --> 00:10:26,280
in this city.

253
00:10:26,280 --> 00:10:30,320
I'm interested to see what you, and why you are here.

254
00:10:30,320 --> 00:10:34,280
I'll see if I can stem the crowd as you realise there is crowd around you.

255
00:10:34,280 --> 00:10:39,800
Still, some of them quite agitated red buckets, buckets of paint on them.

256
00:10:39,800 --> 00:10:42,320
Good luck in there.

257
00:10:42,320 --> 00:10:43,320
Thank you.

258
00:10:43,320 --> 00:10:50,320
Any information you could gleam from that attack would be most useful.

259
00:10:50,320 --> 00:10:51,600
I'll keep my ear to the ground.

260
00:10:51,600 --> 00:10:55,000
I'll see what my little sparrows can tell me.

261
00:10:55,000 --> 00:10:56,000
Thank you.

262
00:10:56,000 --> 00:11:00,800
She was like a courcius nod, and she shouts at someone behind her to get out of her way

263
00:11:00,800 --> 00:11:03,640
as she moves to the ground.

264
00:11:03,640 --> 00:11:10,160
In front of you are these grand steps leading into this house of keys.

265
00:11:10,160 --> 00:11:12,480
You see at the top there's already somebody waiting there for you.

266
00:11:12,480 --> 00:11:19,960
Slender man, he's got big balls hanging around his neck, rather than the smaller, a, no,

267
00:11:19,960 --> 00:11:20,960
framing, praising.

268
00:11:20,960 --> 00:11:24,480
He's got another one of the threads, just similar to some of you guys have had, but you've

269
00:11:24,480 --> 00:11:26,240
got maybe like, just smaller braids.

270
00:11:26,240 --> 00:11:30,880
These ones are like, almost like rubber balls, like, sized, like, almost tennis balls in

271
00:11:30,880 --> 00:11:33,040
shape, just hanging around his neck.

272
00:11:33,040 --> 00:11:34,920
You see, you probably count them out.

273
00:11:34,920 --> 00:11:38,320
Twelve, maybe ten, and you stand in there with a posture that's just kind of looking straight

274
00:11:38,320 --> 00:11:39,320
at you.

275
00:11:39,320 --> 00:11:41,960
Hands very comfortably at his chest, just looking at you.

276
00:11:41,960 --> 00:11:42,960
I'm just expecting.

277
00:11:42,960 --> 00:11:44,960
I'll give him a wave.

278
00:11:44,960 --> 00:11:45,960
And a big smile.

279
00:11:45,960 --> 00:11:49,160
He gives you a nod, but his face does not change.

280
00:11:49,160 --> 00:11:50,160
Okay.

281
00:11:50,160 --> 00:11:51,960
I guess we approach.

282
00:11:51,960 --> 00:11:56,600
As you get closer, he says, "You are late."

283
00:11:56,600 --> 00:11:59,120
Our, our apologies, Councillor.

284
00:11:59,120 --> 00:12:00,120
Hmm.

285
00:12:00,120 --> 00:12:01,120
Ah, we were detained.

286
00:12:01,120 --> 00:12:04,520
I am just a receptionist, not Councillor, but you are late.

287
00:12:04,520 --> 00:12:05,520
Oh.

288
00:12:05,520 --> 00:12:06,520
You seem very esteemed.

289
00:12:06,520 --> 00:12:07,520
Ah, thank you.

290
00:12:07,520 --> 00:12:08,520
I appreciate it.

291
00:12:08,520 --> 00:12:09,520
I appreciate it.

292
00:12:09,520 --> 00:12:14,480
No, the, the others are waiting up there for you.

293
00:12:14,480 --> 00:12:16,320
What are your balls represent?

294
00:12:16,320 --> 00:12:18,320
This, ah.

295
00:12:18,320 --> 00:12:25,800
They are to demonstrate the weight of the years that I have sat behind the desk serving here.

296
00:12:25,800 --> 00:12:26,800
Oh, very waiting.

297
00:12:26,800 --> 00:12:30,600
I'll tell you the ones before me had much more balls around their neck.

298
00:12:30,600 --> 00:12:31,600
Much heavier.

299
00:12:31,600 --> 00:12:32,600
Hmm.

300
00:12:32,600 --> 00:12:33,600
Through years and age.

301
00:12:33,600 --> 00:12:34,600
I watch.

302
00:12:34,600 --> 00:12:35,600
Please proceed.

303
00:12:35,600 --> 00:12:38,840
Yes, my balls have gotten heavier with age as well.

304
00:12:38,840 --> 00:12:39,840
(Laughter)

305
00:12:39,840 --> 00:12:46,800
Now, the balls, I see your balls, they're small.

306
00:12:46,800 --> 00:12:48,200
They hang around your neck loosely.

307
00:12:48,200 --> 00:12:50,040
See, you don't even stoop with them.

308
00:12:50,040 --> 00:12:51,040
I do.

309
00:12:51,040 --> 00:12:55,240
The weight of mine is the weight of parliament, the weight of decisions.

310
00:12:55,240 --> 00:12:57,240
That way my balls down.

311
00:12:57,240 --> 00:12:58,240
I set back problems.

312
00:12:58,240 --> 00:12:59,240
I do.

313
00:12:59,240 --> 00:13:08,240
Many of us have big balls have weight problems when we try to wear them around our neck.

314
00:13:08,240 --> 00:13:09,240
So fucking trash.

315
00:13:09,240 --> 00:13:10,240
You pro.

316
00:13:10,240 --> 00:13:14,240
Oh, my God, it'll want.

317
00:13:14,240 --> 00:13:17,640
We'll follow, man.

318
00:13:17,640 --> 00:13:18,640
Yeah.

319
00:13:18,640 --> 00:13:23,160
After very studiously examining the third ball necklaces.

320
00:13:23,160 --> 00:13:31,080
And comparing ball sizes, going to follow the ball.

321
00:13:31,080 --> 00:13:34,400
I knew as soon as the ball came out of my mouth, it's like, I meant beans.

322
00:13:34,400 --> 00:13:37,720
And it just, just, no.

323
00:13:37,720 --> 00:13:38,720
Oh.

324
00:13:38,720 --> 00:13:44,000
God, we're all children when it comes down to it.

325
00:13:44,000 --> 00:13:46,000
You make your way inside.

326
00:13:46,000 --> 00:13:49,000
He leads you to a staircase that leads up.

327
00:13:49,000 --> 00:13:50,360
Spirals upwards.

328
00:13:50,360 --> 00:13:52,480
You see on the walls.

329
00:13:52,480 --> 00:13:56,120
The interior is dressed in red clay.

330
00:13:56,120 --> 00:14:03,040
And wherever the walls meet, there's a, there are white motifs, almost etchings and patterns

331
00:14:03,040 --> 00:14:04,040
that move up.

332
00:14:04,040 --> 00:14:08,720
And you lead you up the spiral staircase and you go past one story, the second story,

333
00:14:08,720 --> 00:14:09,720
the third story.

334
00:14:09,720 --> 00:14:15,200
And we finally come to the last, the top, the peak of this building, where there is a

335
00:14:15,200 --> 00:14:18,480
door.

336
00:14:18,480 --> 00:14:21,920
Through there, the council awaiting.

337
00:14:21,920 --> 00:14:26,720
And the logical given minute, and look at the other two.

338
00:14:26,720 --> 00:14:28,760
Shrugging just, walking.

339
00:14:28,760 --> 00:14:30,760
Yeah, let's go.

340
00:14:30,760 --> 00:14:31,760
All right.

341
00:14:31,760 --> 00:14:32,760
New walk in.

342
00:14:32,760 --> 00:14:34,240
Push these big doors open.

343
00:14:34,240 --> 00:14:35,240
No, about 10 feet tall.

344
00:14:35,240 --> 00:14:36,240
Very grand.

345
00:14:36,240 --> 00:14:37,960
He asked for a beautiful again, company motifs.

346
00:14:37,960 --> 00:14:39,840
And it leads into a room.

347
00:14:39,840 --> 00:14:43,120
The roof in this room is held up by pillars.

348
00:14:43,120 --> 00:14:47,200
And it is open to the sky and to the region around.

349
00:14:47,200 --> 00:14:51,720
And you look and you can see the city, the waterfalls, the cliffs.

350
00:14:51,720 --> 00:14:54,640
All around you, the forests that surround.

351
00:14:54,640 --> 00:14:56,160
You can see the path that you walked up.

352
00:14:56,160 --> 00:15:01,200
You can even see some of the parties that were protesting against you start to walk up

353
00:15:01,200 --> 00:15:03,320
their way towards the house of keys where you are.

354
00:15:03,320 --> 00:15:06,920
And in this room, it is occupied by a table.

355
00:15:06,920 --> 00:15:13,560
It's table faces towards you, almost in like a presence that you would do at a job interview.

356
00:15:13,560 --> 00:15:16,320
You know, there's a table in front and there's a panel.

357
00:15:16,320 --> 00:15:17,320
Five.

358
00:15:17,320 --> 00:15:18,320
Five.

359
00:15:18,320 --> 00:15:22,400
There's five individuals in the room with you.

360
00:15:22,400 --> 00:15:24,400
There are no chairs before it.

361
00:15:24,400 --> 00:15:29,200
I think you can presume you were required to stand in front of them.

362
00:15:29,200 --> 00:15:36,520
And you see five individuals sitting behind this table with a fifth sitting in a corner.

363
00:15:36,520 --> 00:15:38,920
The one in the center stands up.

364
00:15:38,920 --> 00:15:48,280
And she's wearing this beautiful, beautiful dress that's orange, purple, white, and almost

365
00:15:48,280 --> 00:15:51,360
like a sea green.

366
00:15:51,360 --> 00:15:55,440
Her hair is braided in such a way that it comes out almost like horns out of her side, almost

367
00:15:55,440 --> 00:15:56,720
like a buffalo.

368
00:15:56,720 --> 00:16:01,840
She has beads hanging down off of her neck, which in between are almost pearls that sit

369
00:16:01,840 --> 00:16:02,840
there.

370
00:16:02,840 --> 00:16:06,000
This is what she looks like.

371
00:16:06,000 --> 00:16:12,640
Man, I was not even close to spelling her name properly.

372
00:16:12,640 --> 00:16:13,640
She stands up.

373
00:16:13,640 --> 00:16:16,800
She says, "Welcome, Pathfinder."

374
00:16:16,800 --> 00:16:20,120
I am Warnakina.

375
00:16:20,120 --> 00:16:32,480
Beside me, pointing to her left is Skawahan and Skawahan, a no bright orange hair, pixie

376
00:16:32,480 --> 00:16:36,120
cut, eyebrows blonde white.

377
00:16:36,120 --> 00:16:41,280
Spreading out and you see that she has quite a few piercings on a couple under her eyelid

378
00:16:41,280 --> 00:16:48,920
on her ears and big discs where her earlobe would be.

379
00:16:48,920 --> 00:16:51,920
Points to her right.

380
00:16:51,920 --> 00:17:04,120
This is Oyam, a longer serving councilman, all of skin man hair, pulled back under a head

381
00:17:04,120 --> 00:17:14,280
band which has like teardrop almost bronze on it and last in no way at least we have the

382
00:17:14,280 --> 00:17:17,040
peacekeeper captain, Tekka Wender.

383
00:17:17,040 --> 00:17:24,720
You see he's wearing a beautiful bronze chest piece, the same embellishments we see the

384
00:17:24,720 --> 00:17:25,720
others.

385
00:17:25,720 --> 00:17:31,960
And in the corner points over towards an individual.

386
00:17:31,960 --> 00:17:38,000
Soko is not part of the council but she'll be sitting here taking notes and she's in a very

387
00:17:38,000 --> 00:17:43,640
dark black, almost raven like outfit.

388
00:17:43,640 --> 00:17:48,640
Raven like Shul with like black pants, black shirt she has a band around her waist which

389
00:17:48,640 --> 00:17:53,680
is purple as well as hairbands with what look like almost got bronze coins around it with

390
00:17:53,680 --> 00:17:55,880
a big hairband at the top.

391
00:17:55,880 --> 00:18:06,960
I look to the others and give a moment and step forward and say greetings to steam counsellors

392
00:18:06,960 --> 00:18:09,520
thank you for seeing us.

393
00:18:09,520 --> 00:18:11,520
Appreciate it.

394
00:18:11,520 --> 00:18:14,720
The room we are gathered here in overlooks the city.

395
00:18:14,720 --> 00:18:18,840
This is not to show our superiority but remind us of our duty.

396
00:18:18,840 --> 00:18:22,480
Look out in any direction and you'll see our city.

397
00:18:22,480 --> 00:18:23,480
Our people.

398
00:18:23,480 --> 00:18:28,360
The decision we make is in the constant reminder of who we are meant to serve.

399
00:18:28,360 --> 00:18:31,120
It is with this in mind that we meet with you today.

400
00:18:31,120 --> 00:18:35,120
What we decide here will set a precedent and the city is aware of it.

401
00:18:35,120 --> 00:18:40,240
You are here with good intention to restore something stolen from our lands is a welcome

402
00:18:40,240 --> 00:18:41,960
change.

403
00:18:41,960 --> 00:18:44,720
It shows that your organisation listens.

404
00:18:44,720 --> 00:18:49,240
That they are willing to act towards the benefit of our people rather than the benefit

405
00:18:49,240 --> 00:18:51,240
of themselves.

406
00:18:51,240 --> 00:18:55,560
See there is talk in our streets about the problems of our citizens and how you can help.

407
00:18:55,560 --> 00:18:58,680
There are those as you must have heard who do not share this view.

408
00:18:58,680 --> 00:19:01,000
In fact you can see them right now.

409
00:19:01,000 --> 00:19:03,240
Gathered below us.

410
00:19:03,240 --> 00:19:10,160
The Sagada Protocol is intended to protect Arcadia from ever-stanny interests.

411
00:19:10,160 --> 00:19:15,800
They say that the Pathfinder Society, based in Absalom, is one of those interests.

412
00:19:15,800 --> 00:19:20,400
That by allowing you entry we are exposing the continent to armed warriors beholden

413
00:19:20,400 --> 00:19:23,640
to a foreign authority.

414
00:19:23,640 --> 00:19:27,480
The ever-stanny settlements may only send small amounts of wealth across the ocean.

415
00:19:27,480 --> 00:19:31,920
Will this apply to your organisation as well?

416
00:19:31,920 --> 00:19:36,240
We have no real interest in material wealth, Councillor.

417
00:19:36,240 --> 00:19:39,880
She sits down and looks across from over the desk.

418
00:19:39,880 --> 00:19:42,200
Arcadia is listening, Pathfinder.

419
00:19:42,200 --> 00:19:44,400
Tell us why we should welcome you.

420
00:19:44,400 --> 00:19:48,280
Before you get into it, let me tell you how this is going to work.

421
00:19:48,280 --> 00:19:56,160
So what this is going to be is it is going to be what is called an influence in counter.

422
00:19:56,160 --> 00:20:03,880
So the way you word your questions, your answers can influence these Councilmen for your

423
00:20:03,880 --> 00:20:04,880
side.

424
00:20:04,880 --> 00:20:06,480
You can do two things while you are doing this.

425
00:20:06,480 --> 00:20:07,480
One, influence.

426
00:20:07,480 --> 00:20:12,080
Each one will have a certain amount of influence that they will acquire through what you say if

427
00:20:12,080 --> 00:20:13,920
they are in favour of it.

428
00:20:13,920 --> 00:20:17,140
Obviously, when a certain amount of favour means they will agree with you, vote for the

429
00:20:17,140 --> 00:20:19,900
progression of the Pathfinder Society in Aberstand.

430
00:20:19,900 --> 00:20:22,220
The other thing you can do is discover.

431
00:20:22,220 --> 00:20:27,820
You can do probing questions almost or answer certain things in certain ways as a way to

432
00:20:27,820 --> 00:20:36,300
find out what their weaknesses may be or what might be an appropriate way to approach

433
00:20:36,300 --> 00:20:37,300
a question.

434
00:20:37,300 --> 00:20:41,820
Say for instance, you know that one is more, looks more fondly to life, for instance,

435
00:20:41,820 --> 00:20:44,580
how will you serve the community?

436
00:20:44,580 --> 00:20:47,500
If you frame your questions in that way, you will earn more influence.

437
00:20:47,500 --> 00:20:49,340
Does that make sense?

438
00:20:49,340 --> 00:20:54,020
It is a little bit confusing and I know it is like putting rules on roleplay, but I thought

439
00:20:54,020 --> 00:20:57,260
that this might be an interesting way and you just put a little bit of flavour behind

440
00:20:57,260 --> 00:21:03,940
it and it allows you to direct the conversations in a certain direction if you wish.

441
00:21:03,940 --> 00:21:06,660
So anyone can speak at any point.

442
00:21:06,660 --> 00:21:12,140
One can say I will aid and you will describe what you are aiding.

443
00:21:12,140 --> 00:21:14,140
So the questions put out there.

444
00:21:14,140 --> 00:21:19,780
Yes I will start just because I have stepped forward and I have already begun, but I just

445
00:21:19,780 --> 00:21:25,100
look back to the others to just get some clarification and make sure that I start doing

446
00:21:25,100 --> 00:21:26,100
the right thing.

447
00:21:26,100 --> 00:21:27,100
Lots of encouragement.

448
00:21:27,100 --> 00:21:31,100
Just checking the green and the thumbs up.

449
00:21:31,100 --> 00:21:34,100
Just two and a half foot tall, bro, two.

450
00:21:34,100 --> 00:21:36,340
With a fucking rifle on the back.

451
00:21:36,340 --> 00:21:46,180
Two big old thumbs.

452
00:21:46,180 --> 00:21:57,780
Councilor Wannakina, we come in peace to both learn from each other and to mend the fractures

453
00:21:57,780 --> 00:21:59,140
of the past.

454
00:21:59,140 --> 00:22:06,220
We do not represent Abastan as a whole, but the Path Fund Society which is one of

455
00:22:06,220 --> 00:22:13,900
exploration and peaceful discovery along with protection of those who need it.

456
00:22:13,900 --> 00:22:21,780
I would like to call on your aid in this endeavor and I would love to roll diplomacy.

457
00:22:21,780 --> 00:22:22,780
That is okay.

458
00:22:22,780 --> 00:22:23,780
Go for it.

459
00:22:23,780 --> 00:22:31,020
As I say, can I also just step forward while just after Thimble has finished their little

460
00:22:31,020 --> 00:22:42,060
monologue and just adds to what they've said and say, "I thought it would be good to aid

461
00:22:42,060 --> 00:22:46,940
in your understanding of our society and the Path Fund is in general.

462
00:22:46,940 --> 00:22:55,940
If you could have a text with which to reference some of our greatest adventures, so in good

463
00:22:55,940 --> 00:23:01,380
faith and he will present the book that he removed and showed the guys earlier."

464
00:23:01,380 --> 00:23:04,180
I think because you brought that along, you won't have to roll for that.

465
00:23:04,180 --> 00:23:08,420
I'm going to give you a plus two to this diplomacy role.

466
00:23:08,420 --> 00:23:12,060
The intention of, and I guess the way that I'm seeing this is that you're saying, this

467
00:23:12,060 --> 00:23:14,220
is a beneficial relationship between the two.

468
00:23:14,220 --> 00:23:15,220
Okay, cool.

469
00:23:15,220 --> 00:23:16,220
I like this.

470
00:23:16,220 --> 00:23:17,220
Go for it.

471
00:23:17,220 --> 00:23:20,220
Okay, so this is a plus nine then.

472
00:23:20,220 --> 00:23:21,220
Not bad.

473
00:23:21,220 --> 00:23:25,100
Oh, and that's an 18 on the die.

474
00:23:25,100 --> 00:23:26,100
So 27.

475
00:23:26,100 --> 00:23:33,220
As you produce the book, after saying the benefit of your relationship, you see Skawana look

476
00:23:33,220 --> 00:23:38,140
like it's quizzical and then she sees the book and you see that eyes widen.

477
00:23:38,140 --> 00:23:40,900
She says, "May I see that for a second?"

478
00:23:40,900 --> 00:23:49,980
Yes, the Pathfinder chronicles detailing Dervon Guest and some of his compatriots.

479
00:23:49,980 --> 00:23:51,300
Who is this Dervon Guest?

480
00:23:51,300 --> 00:23:56,260
She reaches up, she has to stand on her chair to lean over and grab it off you.

481
00:23:56,260 --> 00:23:57,260
This nut, this nut.

482
00:23:57,260 --> 00:24:03,220
I think we'll save with permission like what forwards and hand the book to them.

483
00:24:03,220 --> 00:24:12,580
Only but the greatest among our order in history, the most fabled and most storied of all

484
00:24:12,580 --> 00:24:13,580
Pathfinders.

485
00:24:13,580 --> 00:24:17,580
I'm curious and she takes the book and reads over it and it's just like, she's like, "I

486
00:24:17,580 --> 00:24:21,580
was curious of how you would handle the star gun.

487
00:24:21,580 --> 00:24:28,540
I'm personally interested in, obviously, it's a part of our past and part of our present

488
00:24:28,540 --> 00:24:34,020
even as it is a living, well, not necessarily living, but it's a, we feel it's a breathing

489
00:24:34,020 --> 00:24:37,140
part of our culture and our background and I'm curious.

490
00:24:37,140 --> 00:24:40,860
What is the Pathfinders' intention with this?

491
00:24:40,860 --> 00:24:43,060
Or better to say, weapon?

492
00:24:43,060 --> 00:24:46,660
This, no, no, says is she's going through this book and just flicking it over.

493
00:24:46,660 --> 00:24:51,100
While this is all going on as well, you see Suco in the corner just writing notes in her

494
00:24:51,100 --> 00:24:54,620
note pad, almost noting down everything that's been said.

495
00:24:54,620 --> 00:24:57,780
She kind of looks up at you guys, focusing on you.

496
00:24:57,780 --> 00:25:05,660
Well, first and foremost, knowledge, we seek to understand that which is not understood

497
00:25:05,660 --> 00:25:14,300
and this is one of those instances, the society has not had the opportunity to closely study

498
00:25:14,300 --> 00:25:18,140
your analyse such a device before.

499
00:25:18,140 --> 00:25:23,420
Then have you had experience with the Pathfinders and how they deal with technologies foreign

500
00:25:23,420 --> 00:25:25,060
to their communities?

501
00:25:25,060 --> 00:25:26,060
Yes.

502
00:25:26,060 --> 00:25:28,180
Tell me.

503
00:25:28,180 --> 00:25:37,100
Every Pathfinder is free to pursue generally the quests that they pursue under their own

504
00:25:37,100 --> 00:25:44,260
wisdom, but you do not become a Pathfinder without approval from one of the things

505
00:25:44,260 --> 00:25:46,700
of the higher ups as it's worth.

506
00:25:46,700 --> 00:25:53,180
They'd like to get a gauge for the person before you become a part of the society.

507
00:25:53,180 --> 00:25:59,500
Generally, I think I can speak unreservedly in saying that the Pathfinders themselves

508
00:25:59,500 --> 00:26:07,900
will, whilst not all altruistic in nature, seek the betterment of most, if not all, peoples

509
00:26:07,900 --> 00:26:10,580
on Galerion, through whichever way they endeavour.

510
00:26:10,580 --> 00:26:15,660
Do you want to give me a role with that, and diplomacy, in perception?

511
00:26:15,660 --> 00:26:16,660
Fuck no.

512
00:26:16,660 --> 00:26:17,660
I'll give you a perception check.

513
00:26:17,660 --> 00:26:18,660
Actually, I'm not giving you a bit of a question.

514
00:26:18,660 --> 00:26:19,660
Okay, I'm happy with perception.

515
00:26:19,660 --> 00:26:21,660
It's one of those ones you can just do.

516
00:26:21,660 --> 00:26:22,660
If you...

517
00:26:22,660 --> 00:26:23,660
22.

518
00:26:23,660 --> 00:26:30,540
Okay, from your conversation with Scar-Hu-Huan, you realise that she knows she was asking

519
00:26:30,540 --> 00:26:36,700
you, in particular, questions about obviously the research and the way you would handle new

520
00:26:36,700 --> 00:26:38,660
found technology.

521
00:26:38,660 --> 00:26:41,740
And there's a level of curiosity in it, not necessarily because she wants to know whether

522
00:26:41,740 --> 00:26:47,140
or not you can be trusted, but she has a genuine interest in how the Pathfinders society

523
00:26:47,140 --> 00:26:51,580
would not only handle discoveries, but how they would share it.

524
00:26:51,580 --> 00:26:55,700
You pick that up as like a, not necessarily weakness, but an interest of hers.

525
00:26:55,700 --> 00:26:59,100
I sure speak about working together.

526
00:26:59,100 --> 00:27:03,180
You see that the peacekeeper, Tickwender, speaks out.

527
00:27:03,180 --> 00:27:06,500
Are all of your kind as heavily armed as you are?

528
00:27:06,500 --> 00:27:07,940
I see weapons on you.

529
00:27:07,940 --> 00:27:14,420
This is a city where you can freely have arms, but I have guards patrolling, peacekeepers

530
00:27:14,420 --> 00:27:16,020
keeping the peace.

531
00:27:16,020 --> 00:27:21,340
And just your presence here is, well, I exploded out our routes and our routines so that

532
00:27:21,340 --> 00:27:23,540
we have to disperse groups.

533
00:27:23,540 --> 00:27:29,540
Are we to expect more when you arrive here or more of you may possibly enter our city?

534
00:27:29,540 --> 00:27:32,820
By your kind, do you mean Pathfinders?

535
00:27:32,820 --> 00:27:33,820
I do.

536
00:27:33,820 --> 00:27:34,820
Or Avastani.

537
00:27:34,820 --> 00:27:37,660
I mean Pathfinders directly.

538
00:27:37,660 --> 00:27:43,140
I don't want to speak for the other two, but I personally believe it would be unwise

539
00:27:43,140 --> 00:27:48,220
for Pathfinders to venture out and do the things that we do without some form of armament

540
00:27:48,220 --> 00:27:53,380
or expertise in the arts of combat.

541
00:27:53,380 --> 00:27:56,060
However, it is that we approach that.

542
00:27:56,060 --> 00:27:59,340
Our land of work takes us to some dangerous places.

543
00:27:59,340 --> 00:28:04,980
Would you say you are known to take the law into your own hands within a community?

544
00:28:04,980 --> 00:28:08,260
Yeah, if only we had such a power.

545
00:28:08,260 --> 00:28:11,420
No, we are beholden to the laws like everybody else.

546
00:28:11,420 --> 00:28:17,700
It is once we venture into the wilderness and things are perhaps not quite as lawful as

547
00:28:17,700 --> 00:28:19,500
they are in the big cities.

548
00:28:19,500 --> 00:28:24,180
That is sometimes, you know, when you must do what you think is morally right, even if

549
00:28:24,180 --> 00:28:27,260
it doesn't necessarily follow the laws of the land.

550
00:28:27,260 --> 00:28:33,620
So you're saying morals determine action when it comes to let's say an armed combat.

551
00:28:33,620 --> 00:28:38,500
Let's say on the street that you saw someone getting mugged.

552
00:28:38,500 --> 00:28:41,740
So someone on the street getting attacked or harassed.

553
00:28:41,740 --> 00:28:42,740
Would you step in?

554
00:28:42,740 --> 00:28:50,660
I think the answer you seek perhaps is that is one of the codes that we follow as Pathfinders,

555
00:28:50,660 --> 00:28:55,180
which is that violence is not always the answer, but we want to try and help everybody

556
00:28:55,180 --> 00:28:56,180
that we can.

557
00:28:56,180 --> 00:28:59,700
If somebody is getting mugged on the street, I do my best to help them.

558
00:28:59,700 --> 00:29:02,060
Give me a society, bro.

559
00:29:02,060 --> 00:29:04,540
It's not fantastic.

560
00:29:04,540 --> 00:29:06,620
It is a 14 total.

561
00:29:06,620 --> 00:29:07,620
Okay.

562
00:29:07,620 --> 00:29:13,060
You can tell that this guard, this techowender, they seem exhausted.

563
00:29:13,060 --> 00:29:20,060
They seem quite brave and morally in one position if that makes sense, morally standing with

564
00:29:20,060 --> 00:29:21,540
the law.

565
00:29:21,540 --> 00:29:23,900
Like very rigid, like code rigid.

566
00:29:23,900 --> 00:29:24,900
Yes.

567
00:29:24,900 --> 00:29:25,900
Is that the kind of vibe?

568
00:29:25,900 --> 00:29:30,300
Code, you get a very code rigid vibe as well as you do see that, you know, there's bags

569
00:29:30,300 --> 00:29:33,980
under the eyes, they speak in such a way that she seems exhausted.

570
00:29:33,980 --> 00:29:40,900
And you can kind of tell that like maybe this role has been hard for them.

571
00:29:40,900 --> 00:29:45,140
Is it something that you face a lot in this city, petty crimes?

572
00:29:45,140 --> 00:29:48,580
Every now and again, yes, petty crimes, nothing serious, nothing.

573
00:29:48,580 --> 00:29:52,660
I mean, I don't mean to speak to your people, everyone I've seen so far has been lovely

574
00:29:52,660 --> 00:29:57,580
to us, but I know that the bigger city is like this, some people like to take the law

575
00:29:57,580 --> 00:29:59,140
into their own hands.

576
00:29:59,140 --> 00:30:03,980
We haven't had any malicious stand up, if that's what you mean, or any gang stride a broad

577
00:30:03,980 --> 00:30:09,060
street, so what's not, but it's just such a large city and we have so few peacekeepers

578
00:30:09,060 --> 00:30:13,220
that it can be hard to trace the routes of the city that we need protected, for instance,

579
00:30:13,220 --> 00:30:15,620
or certain events happens.

580
00:30:15,620 --> 00:30:17,700
We are low in manpower.

581
00:30:17,700 --> 00:30:23,700
We were stretched thin, and I'm wondering if you would cause trouble, or perhaps if called

582
00:30:23,700 --> 00:30:26,340
upon, could we ask for aid?

583
00:30:26,340 --> 00:30:31,860
We would always be happy to help in any way we can in whatever society we are currently

584
00:30:31,860 --> 00:30:32,860
in.

585
00:30:32,860 --> 00:30:37,580
There's one of the many creeds of the Pathfinder that we must integrate ourselves and try

586
00:30:37,580 --> 00:30:39,820
to help all those in need.

587
00:30:39,820 --> 00:30:42,060
We don't only look out for ourselves.

588
00:30:42,060 --> 00:30:48,980
Yeah, as long as the health that we're giving is not appressing those of which you ask,

589
00:30:48,980 --> 00:30:51,420
but otherwise, of course.

590
00:30:51,420 --> 00:30:56,900
There have been instances in the past of people seeking to leverage the Pathfinders in

591
00:30:56,900 --> 00:31:01,660
more malicious intent, and that's we do not stand for.

592
00:31:01,660 --> 00:31:04,180
Orhan speaks up at this.

593
00:31:04,180 --> 00:31:06,420
What do you mean, influenced?

594
00:31:06,420 --> 00:31:08,860
You are attempted to influence you.

595
00:31:08,860 --> 00:31:17,260
Well in the same way that you are questioning us now if a less benevolent society were to

596
00:31:17,260 --> 00:31:25,580
be liaising with the Pathfinders or we would just have made contact with a previously uncontacted

597
00:31:25,580 --> 00:31:34,260
society, there can be things undiscovered and things unsaid that when said or when discovered

598
00:31:34,260 --> 00:31:40,220
become in our eyes, perhaps less than savoury, and that is when the Pathfinders would seek

599
00:31:40,220 --> 00:31:47,420
to distance themselves from said unsaidvery actions.

600
00:31:47,420 --> 00:31:54,300
And what of, I'm sure it won't come about, but ideas of tradition within the Pathfinder

601
00:31:54,300 --> 00:31:55,300
society.

602
00:31:55,300 --> 00:32:01,660
If there is a tradition that is local to your kind, your operation, your organisation, is

603
00:32:01,660 --> 00:32:02,660
it malleable?

604
00:32:02,660 --> 00:32:03,660
Will it bend?

605
00:32:03,660 --> 00:32:12,100
Or as you can see, we're very diverse, the Pathfinders come from all corners of glaring.

606
00:32:12,100 --> 00:32:16,740
Do you want to give me a society check?

607
00:32:16,740 --> 00:32:17,740
A society symbol?

608
00:32:17,740 --> 00:32:18,740
Okay.

609
00:32:18,740 --> 00:32:26,980
Can I, I'll add to that and just say, I personally have had a lot of dealings with aslanti

610
00:32:26,980 --> 00:32:33,500
ruins and dealing with the locals there, and you know, we had to tread very lightly and make

611
00:32:33,500 --> 00:32:38,500
sure what we were doing was in their best interest as well as our own research, so we're

612
00:32:38,500 --> 00:32:39,820
well versed.

613
00:32:39,820 --> 00:32:43,740
I can speak personally from this kind of perspective.

614
00:32:43,740 --> 00:32:45,740
Give me that society, bro.

615
00:32:45,740 --> 00:32:47,980
Oh, it's another 18.

616
00:32:47,980 --> 00:32:51,980
This style loves 18, so, uh, society.

617
00:32:51,980 --> 00:32:52,980
22.

618
00:32:52,980 --> 00:32:58,620
You realise through the conversation, I haven't seen a traditionalist, the eldest one out

619
00:32:58,620 --> 00:33:05,060
of all of them, and you notice around his neck is a beaded band, just like you guys are

620
00:33:05,060 --> 00:33:06,980
wearing, you guys are wearing.

621
00:33:06,980 --> 00:33:12,220
And if you take the time, you'll count 76 beats on his necklace.

622
00:33:12,220 --> 00:33:17,980
It's quite wide at this point, hangs down low, but you get the sense that he's a traditionalist,

623
00:33:17,980 --> 00:33:25,260
and if not like elder by quite a long time, maybe 30, 40, even 50 years, and he might be

624
00:33:25,260 --> 00:33:30,780
someone who brings a sense of history and tradition to this council above everything

625
00:33:30,780 --> 00:33:31,780
else.

626
00:33:31,780 --> 00:33:34,740
If anyone knows history, it's the aslanti.

627
00:33:34,740 --> 00:33:43,220
Yes, that was a great trouble fell before them, and so got quite large as far as we can

628
00:33:43,220 --> 00:33:44,220
tell.

629
00:33:44,220 --> 00:33:50,040
And that grew themselves and pushed further, and this is what makes us nervous.

630
00:33:50,040 --> 00:33:57,740
That's the pathfinder's set up shop here, or maybe in others here to adjust to their needs,

631
00:33:57,740 --> 00:34:03,300
and we start losing touch with who we are, and what we believe in.

632
00:34:03,300 --> 00:34:08,100
That our history gets slowly erased, that our traditions are slowly forgotten, and that

633
00:34:08,100 --> 00:34:12,820
we become one with just Avestan, we want to stay independent.

634
00:34:12,820 --> 00:34:19,140
And we know, and have heard tales of how you look after archaeological builds, not set of

635
00:34:19,140 --> 00:34:24,980
destruction and erasing the truth, we're there to find it, and the star gun is something

636
00:34:24,980 --> 00:34:28,100
that you can prove to us with it, perhaps.

637
00:34:28,100 --> 00:34:35,500
You want to look over towards Warnakina, and Warnakina says yes, this star gun is one cultural

638
00:34:35,500 --> 00:34:41,380
symbol to us, not used as a weapon, but ceremonial.

639
00:34:41,380 --> 00:34:45,140
In some ways political importance, there was a time when there were more common with

640
00:34:45,140 --> 00:34:51,900
Munkstar kind, and in our culture there would be gifts, treasures we would trade, and it

641
00:34:51,900 --> 00:34:53,500
was a son of importance.

642
00:34:53,500 --> 00:34:56,780
Instantly of the ages they disappeared.

643
00:34:56,780 --> 00:35:02,740
Chelyax had a lot to do with that, when they tried to colonize the area, and we in fact

644
00:35:02,740 --> 00:35:11,340
lost it, quite a few, during the war with the werewoods, but unlike Chelyax, the

645
00:35:11,340 --> 00:35:14,300
werewoods now live with us, amongst us.

646
00:35:14,300 --> 00:35:21,260
We don't see many of their clockwork, creatures or war machines amongst us, but occasionally,

647
00:35:21,260 --> 00:35:24,540
not put it down, but we can make use of them.

648
00:35:24,540 --> 00:35:29,060
So I'm interested in how you would benefit the community if you were here.

649
00:35:29,060 --> 00:35:39,860
Well, tell me this, this star gun is, is it being broken, culturally significant to you

650
00:35:39,860 --> 00:35:40,860
at all?

651
00:35:40,860 --> 00:35:47,020
Is the fact that it is an artifact from an age past that no longer works is that it is

652
00:35:47,020 --> 00:35:53,180
part of your perhaps the qualms that you may have without presence here that we are attempting

653
00:35:53,180 --> 00:35:55,340
to repair this artifact?

654
00:35:55,340 --> 00:35:56,340
Not at all.

655
00:35:56,340 --> 00:36:00,020
We are not concerned whether or not it be did is.

656
00:36:00,020 --> 00:36:01,660
Let me reframe that.

657
00:36:01,660 --> 00:36:03,620
We wish the weapon to be fixed.

658
00:36:03,620 --> 00:36:09,060
We want to know why, we can't just hand it to us, and we fix it ourselves.

659
00:36:09,060 --> 00:36:13,460
Why the pathfinders want to be the ones to fix it?

660
00:36:13,460 --> 00:36:17,500
What cultural significance that has for us?

661
00:36:17,500 --> 00:36:22,820
I mean, as any good purveyors of the truth, it maybe necessarily doesn't have cultural significance

662
00:36:22,820 --> 00:36:29,900
to the pathfinders, but in an attempt to pursue knowledge and gain an understanding of

663
00:36:29,900 --> 00:36:38,220
the world at large, it would be beneficial to us to pursue this interest and have our

664
00:36:38,220 --> 00:36:39,860
own knowledge of this thing.

665
00:36:39,860 --> 00:36:47,900
It would be good for us to study for both the reasons that my friend here states, and

666
00:36:47,900 --> 00:36:53,420
for defensive purposes to be honest, like we, if this is something that anyone tries

667
00:36:53,420 --> 00:36:59,020
to leverage it against us, then we would like to know what we are up against.

668
00:36:59,020 --> 00:37:06,860
Mytai also asked, is there a reason that it has not been repaired in the past?

669
00:37:06,860 --> 00:37:11,500
Have you not sought to, you mentioned that there were numerous of these, and that there

670
00:37:11,500 --> 00:37:14,020
were symbols of status?

671
00:37:14,020 --> 00:37:19,940
Has not someone sought to make them work before?

672
00:37:19,940 --> 00:37:22,180
We have some that work.

673
00:37:22,180 --> 00:37:27,780
The fact is that it was a stolen artifact by Chilliacs, while they had a presence here,

674
00:37:27,780 --> 00:37:31,140
that flew away from our nation.

675
00:37:31,140 --> 00:37:36,140
Drove round the lands of Abastan until finally, the pathfinders said that they found it.

676
00:37:36,140 --> 00:37:42,940
Now I'm not sure if you found it, perhaps in one of your ventures, or it was a gift onto

677
00:37:42,940 --> 00:37:48,060
you, but it has cultural significance within our kind, that is why we wish it back.

678
00:37:48,060 --> 00:37:52,460
With it being broken and marked, we're not blaming you.

679
00:37:52,460 --> 00:37:58,060
We know that its history is disconnected perhaps from the pathfinder society, but what

680
00:37:58,060 --> 00:38:05,420
we're interested in is what we will benefit if we allow you to venture out and repair

681
00:38:05,420 --> 00:38:09,380
in our name, let's say, this gun, what's benefit?

682
00:38:09,380 --> 00:38:15,900
I know that many artifacts like this, of course, they have historical significance.

683
00:38:15,900 --> 00:38:22,820
Would you be open perhaps to some kind of agreement where we can hold the artifact for some

684
00:38:22,820 --> 00:38:26,100
time before giving it back to you?

685
00:38:26,100 --> 00:38:30,220
We would make sure that we keep it in good condition in a repaired state, do all of our

686
00:38:30,220 --> 00:38:36,820
research, we can work together on this, and when we are done with it as the pathfinders,

687
00:38:36,820 --> 00:38:43,580
when the pathfinders society sees fit, perhaps it can then be returned and placed upon some

688
00:38:43,580 --> 00:38:48,500
mantle of pedestal within your city to show the cultural significance.

689
00:38:48,500 --> 00:38:53,540
Skavohan speaks up with the research that you would do on this gun.

690
00:38:53,540 --> 00:38:55,380
Would it be available to us?

691
00:38:55,380 --> 00:39:01,820
Would any other discoveries you found be available for us to look at or even we could learn from

692
00:39:01,820 --> 00:39:05,100
you the way that you discover things?

693
00:39:05,100 --> 00:39:09,620
If you would like to join us and help to discover the things about this gun, which kind of

694
00:39:09,620 --> 00:39:14,180
leans back a little bit of this, you know, and has a very critical look on her face, we

695
00:39:14,180 --> 00:39:17,940
would be more than happy to have more hands looking at it.

696
00:39:17,940 --> 00:39:25,660
We've worked together with other communities and cultures to help each other more than

697
00:39:25,660 --> 00:39:26,660
once.

698
00:39:26,660 --> 00:39:33,660
Skavohan speaks up how so, how their culture and yours mittens to mingle.

699
00:39:33,660 --> 00:39:41,140
Did you pay the right respects, the correct, I guess, politeness and understanding of known

700
00:39:41,140 --> 00:39:42,140
traditions?

701
00:39:42,140 --> 00:39:46,140
What is your experience being with the pathfinders and experiencing another culture and maybe

702
00:39:46,140 --> 00:39:48,860
not touched?

703
00:39:48,860 --> 00:39:59,020
Of course, I mean, yeah, in the blackwood swamps of the region in Afghanistan, there is a

704
00:39:59,020 --> 00:40:09,100
tribe, an enclave of lizard folk that we helped discover, delve into the Aslanti ruins together,

705
00:40:09,100 --> 00:40:15,020
share information and knowledge that we gliend set up a community together in which we

706
00:40:15,020 --> 00:40:23,540
can share knowledge and it was nothing but a prosperous and advantageous partnership.

707
00:40:23,540 --> 00:40:35,300
We even have recruited local adventurers from their ranks because of our shared efforts.

708
00:40:35,300 --> 00:40:44,500
So I've certainly seen firsthand how beneficial working together with other groups and communities

709
00:40:44,500 --> 00:40:48,380
can be.

710
00:40:48,380 --> 00:40:59,460
You see that take a when the lens in, you would share your knowledge of warfare with others

711
00:40:59,460 --> 00:41:04,020
to help protect, obviously, these communities a bit better.

712
00:41:04,020 --> 00:41:12,740
Of course, as long as we're not talking about Uselaw or something here, we're not co-horting

713
00:41:12,740 --> 00:41:21,100
with dark forces or anything like that to oppress people, but when it comes to protecting,

714
00:41:21,100 --> 00:41:26,740
giving you the knowledge, protecting your own community or sharing our experiences

715
00:41:26,740 --> 00:41:30,900
of the like, then yes, our doors are open.

716
00:41:30,900 --> 00:41:36,740
We'll kind of look each other to a little bit of a not around the room.

717
00:41:36,740 --> 00:41:39,140
You realize these discussions have gone for a long time.

718
00:41:39,140 --> 00:41:43,780
There's a lot of back and forth amongst themselves in between these questions and the way that

719
00:41:43,780 --> 00:41:45,980
they answer them.

720
00:41:45,980 --> 00:41:51,740
You realize that the sun is slowly dipping behind the mountains in the distance and you

721
00:41:51,740 --> 00:42:00,500
see a wakakina look outside towards the setting sun and you see a stand up.

722
00:42:00,500 --> 00:42:04,500
So you've given us much to consider.

723
00:42:04,500 --> 00:42:09,060
It is, however, getting late and you see that suko stands up and starts walking out

724
00:42:09,060 --> 00:42:16,020
the room past you guys, keeping an eye on you guys as she walks and leaves.

725
00:42:16,020 --> 00:42:20,300
Something this important should not be decided by tired minds.

726
00:42:20,300 --> 00:42:22,220
Meet us again in the morning.

727
00:42:22,220 --> 00:42:26,220
Once we've all had time to sleep on it, we'll make our final decision.

728
00:42:26,220 --> 00:42:30,620
Oh, and please, give away to my best.

729
00:42:30,620 --> 00:42:34,060
I hear she spent a week preparing the rooms for you.

730
00:42:34,060 --> 00:42:35,060
Of course.

731
00:42:35,060 --> 00:42:37,900
And they will stand up and give you a very polite bow.

732
00:42:37,900 --> 00:42:39,420
Thank you for your time, Councilor.

733
00:42:39,420 --> 00:42:41,780
I want everyone to give me a perception check.

734
00:42:41,780 --> 00:42:42,780
21.

735
00:42:42,780 --> 00:42:44,780
Seven.

736
00:42:44,780 --> 00:42:49,300
14.

737
00:42:49,300 --> 00:42:50,300
Okay.

738
00:42:50,300 --> 00:42:55,420
Looking over them, they seem less rigid towards when you first enter.

739
00:42:55,420 --> 00:42:56,580
They seem a bit more relaxed.

740
00:42:56,580 --> 00:42:59,380
They seem a bit more open to what you are saying.

741
00:42:59,380 --> 00:43:06,420
Skawahana actually genuinely looks excited about the idea of research happening amongst

742
00:43:06,420 --> 00:43:11,820
between the two communities that you can help them understand and know more even about

743
00:43:11,820 --> 00:43:19,740
maybe their own culture, as well as develop their sciences, develop their artists and qualities,

744
00:43:19,740 --> 00:43:21,620
progress them as a nation.

745
00:43:21,620 --> 00:43:28,820
And aham respects the amount of time that is given to tradition, that is given to make

746
00:43:28,820 --> 00:43:32,820
sure that you're not stepping on toes when you're in a community, that the culture is

747
00:43:32,820 --> 00:43:39,260
preserved, that there are ideals within communities that you have visited that you hold as high

748
00:43:39,260 --> 00:43:40,260
as they do.

749
00:43:40,260 --> 00:43:46,700
You see that Tekawenda is more relaxed but a little bit timid, not sure, kind of on the

750
00:43:46,700 --> 00:43:47,780
fence.

751
00:43:47,780 --> 00:43:50,300
And when I keen a deadpan, you're not sure.

752
00:43:50,300 --> 00:43:54,780
And we'll give you a polite bow and you guys exit the room.

753
00:43:54,780 --> 00:44:02,340
You head back downstairs and at the bottom of the bottom of the stairs, you see Buwane

754
00:44:02,340 --> 00:44:06,780
and Raks and we're waiting for you.

755
00:44:06,780 --> 00:44:10,420
And I, as before you can get to the bottom of the stairs, it's like, so how do I go?

756
00:44:10,420 --> 00:44:11,420
How was the meeting?

757
00:44:11,420 --> 00:44:13,420
Any decisions made?

758
00:44:13,420 --> 00:44:16,260
Well it went better than I thought it was to be honest.

759
00:44:16,260 --> 00:44:17,260
Yeah.

760
00:44:17,260 --> 00:44:27,540
I was given the mood of the city quite anxious, but they seem like they are intelligent

761
00:44:27,540 --> 00:44:32,820
and thoughtful people and we're willing to hear our words.

762
00:44:32,820 --> 00:44:41,220
We will be meeting again, I'm presuming tomorrow to discuss further, but all in all a good start,

763
00:44:41,220 --> 00:44:42,220
what do you say?

764
00:44:42,220 --> 00:44:43,220
What do you think?

765
00:44:43,220 --> 00:44:45,700
Definitely good start.

766
00:44:45,700 --> 00:44:50,420
Yeah, looks like they're not making any hasty decisions, but that's okay.

767
00:44:50,420 --> 00:44:53,780
We don't have to rush these negotiations.

768
00:44:53,780 --> 00:45:00,060
As you're saying all this, my side door opens up and you again see Sukka come out and she

769
00:45:00,060 --> 00:45:04,780
kind of surprised to see they're almost and kind of looks you all over and kind of gives

770
00:45:04,780 --> 00:45:10,380
you a gentle nod and walks through you and as she does you smell just this scent of like

771
00:45:10,380 --> 00:45:12,900
petals and beautiful, some sort of perfume she's wearing.

772
00:45:12,900 --> 00:45:15,700
This just seems just delightful to smell.

773
00:45:15,700 --> 00:45:18,620
Lavenders, you know.

774
00:45:18,620 --> 00:45:20,940
Some sort of perfume, I'm trying to describe it, it's hard.

775
00:45:20,940 --> 00:45:27,020
She walks through you as you smell this perfume coming off her and you see that even

776
00:45:27,020 --> 00:45:32,180
in our way who is excited about what's occurring and what you guys are talking about.

777
00:45:32,180 --> 00:45:37,060
He stands up and gives her a little bit of a bow and a wreck some way, gives her a gentle

778
00:45:37,060 --> 00:45:41,540
nod and she gives them like a pleasant smile and walks out the door.

779
00:45:41,540 --> 00:45:45,060
So, all right, well I'm upset.

780
00:45:45,060 --> 00:45:47,060
Shall we get you to your accommodation?

781
00:45:47,060 --> 00:45:49,460
Yes, it's been a long day.

782
00:45:49,460 --> 00:45:55,340
Well, I'll take you through and he leads you down the stairs.

783
00:45:55,340 --> 00:46:00,420
You start moving through some of these laneways, some of these, the markets seem to all have

784
00:46:00,420 --> 00:46:05,660
changed and some, and there's a night market on, but you do notice that as the sun is setting

785
00:46:05,660 --> 00:46:09,460
right now a lot of the produce vendors are doing exactly what you remembered.

786
00:46:09,460 --> 00:46:15,580
They're pushing all their produce into praises and setting it ablaze.

787
00:46:15,580 --> 00:46:21,420
Few of them stand in there with their hands open over the flames, guiding almost the smoke

788
00:46:21,420 --> 00:46:24,820
up into the air towards the spirits beyond.

789
00:46:24,820 --> 00:46:29,020
You're watching some of this occurring and you're walking past and you notice that the

790
00:46:29,020 --> 00:46:31,820
noise of the city begins to die down.

791
00:46:31,820 --> 00:46:36,180
Storytellers reach the end of their tails, promising to continue their lessons in the morning

792
00:46:36,180 --> 00:46:41,100
and the streets gently begin to fill with light as people settle into their homes

793
00:46:41,100 --> 00:46:42,340
for the evening.

794
00:46:42,340 --> 00:46:47,620
We calm out, Miss Fear, however, as you're walking down the street, it's cut sharp as there's

795
00:46:47,620 --> 00:46:51,260
a crash down a nearby alleyway and a whispered argument.

796
00:46:51,260 --> 00:46:57,860
You look to your left and you see three individuals dressed in black, whispering to each other, talking

797
00:46:57,860 --> 00:47:00,380
about a thing that's being split on the floor.

798
00:47:00,380 --> 00:47:03,060
Talking about the poison and poking and poking at something that's on the floor trying

799
00:47:03,060 --> 00:47:07,340
to gather at us, arguing with each other, and then one of them looks up and hear one

800
00:47:07,340 --> 00:47:11,980
of them say, "No, stop it, no, we can't, she can't see the broken pot, she can't see

801
00:47:11,980 --> 00:47:15,340
that it's broken, we can't, and the other one who's looked at you is like passing the

802
00:47:15,340 --> 00:47:20,900
other two and says, "She won't care about the pot, and they step forwards and you realise

803
00:47:20,900 --> 00:47:28,860
they're wearing this long black cloak and their face is hidden behind a mask that looks

804
00:47:28,860 --> 00:47:30,260
like an owl."

805
00:47:30,260 --> 00:47:37,700
No, she won't worry, nut if we bring them the path finders heads, and I think we should

806
00:47:37,700 --> 00:47:39,700
roll for initiative.

807
00:47:39,700 --> 00:47:44,140
Next time.

808
00:47:44,140 --> 00:47:48,940
With the days end, the path finders have found a moment to rest, knowing that they are in

809
00:47:48,940 --> 00:47:54,340
the council's favour, though this rest is short lived as perhaps by chance, cloaked figures

810
00:47:54,340 --> 00:47:58,300
lost their path and our adventurers prepared to defend themselves.

811
00:47:58,300 --> 00:48:00,700
Who is this mysterious group in the shadows?

812
00:48:00,700 --> 00:48:03,180
Are they related to the attack and protests?

813
00:48:03,180 --> 00:48:05,620
And who is this mother they speak of?
